Jim -- Congrats! Your specimen has eye appeal beyond a 84. And the centering fascistnista's should be very happy. The corners have alot to do with the grade, but I believe this looks better than a 84, which is it self a great grade! You should send it me so I can WIWAG your rear end..LOL

so i guess there is no way to get sgc to get rid of that ugly label. on a nice vintage card like that it just doesn't look good . i would like to see a nice silver (and i am not alone)then it would be wahoo. i know the 2 other forum members here will likely disagree but i got about 250 crossovers and about 250 raws waiting for the day they change. i will wait it out. you know about 20 minutes after i receive my cards they will change them. i can be patient.

Old, dense-headed hammers are cool. Best nail pounders.

Nice one Jim! In BMW's last few groups of auctions, I once again became a fan of vintage SGC-84's and -86's. They sure are sweet lookers.

Jim, I've got a nice '56 Larry Doby that you could talk me out of pretty easily -- it is currently in the wrong holder, but that could change pretty easily! PM me if you are interested.

i would have to say this is a awesome pickup on the sgc 7 56 mantle jim, definitley the pride of your 56 topps set... it would say it is even probably a better then my psa 7 which i showed u via email a few months back which you thought should have been a 8. Soon i will get my psa 7 hopefully transplanted intoa sgc 7 (or better i hope a 7.5). at any rate.. awesome pickup. I think i was watching this auction to see how well a well centered 7 would go for..great pickup

what is your next major purchase for your 56 set???

i recently got a 50/50 centered sgc 6 aaron back myself and a 50/50 centered GAI 7 ed mathews which i plan to have crossed over too

someday i myself might attempt to build this set... but for now jimbo u are the sgc KING OF 56!!!

Thanks loth -

Right now I'm buying lots of 84 commons. Also expecting 15 PSA 6's to cross over and 1 BVG 6 Clemente. They are already over a week overdue but I suppose with the crossover special ending 3/31 they were swamped.

I generally shy away from crossovers - especially with ample supply seeming to exist at the moment in the good guys' holder.

Good luck with your collection and thanks for the kind words,
-Jim
