2.94 AVG, 3 HR, 4 RBI's, 14 total bases, and 824 slugging percentage, in the series VS the braves, with a possiblity of having 2 more HR to the total(Andruw Jones robbed one in over the CF wall in game 1, and in game 4 the opposite long flyout to A. Jones at 380 ft). any thoughts?
I never thought of him as a "choker." While his post-season performances have been poor, I've always thought the "choker" and other similar labels have been hung on Mr. Bonds by sports pundit wannabes who have had their feelings hurt by Bonds' arrogance and lack of cooperation with the press. To focus on less than 150 ABs from the career of a man who may eclipse many of the more important lifetime offensive stats strikes me as grossly unfair.
i know it's still too early to tell, but that 2nd inning HR was huge, in the WS. that makes it 5 HR in the post season thus far. so i must reiterate, is barry bonds still a choker, i think his HOF career is cemented now no matter what the outcome.
He was a sure-thing, first-ballot HOFer before this season even started. Adding another MVP award to his trophy case and lighting up the Angels pitching in this year's World Series are just icing on the cake.
