I sent 49 cards into SGC for the first time from my personal collection to get graded. I have updated the Set Registry for my 1977 Topps Vikings and Baseball, and a couple others under 'estang'. The details are:

1 CHAMP BAILEY 96 ....rookie autograph insert card...nice!
2 ICHIRO SUZUKI 96 ....rookie Topps...the guy is amazin' like Gwynn,Boggs,Carew
3 FRANK THOMAS 88 ....90 Leaf...thought it would grade higher...upgrade on ebay?
4 ROGER CLEMENS 96 ....85 Topps....sweet...didn't think it was a MINT card
5 GEORGE FOSTER 86 ....80 Topps...thought it would be an 88 or 92
6 NOLAN RYAN 80 .....80 Topps...thought it would be an 84...from a VENDING BOX
7 GEORGE BRETT 92 ...80 Topps all-start....nice
8 ROY SMALLEY 92 ....80 Topps...all-star designated Twins star...sweet!
9 FRED LYNN 96 ...80 Topps....all-star designated...sweet
10 DAVE WINFIELD 88 ...80 Topps..all-star designated
11 RICKEY HENDERSON 84 ....80 Topps from VENDING BOX RIP-OFF on ebay

Eric -- Good job. I noticed that you listed 48 cards...what was #49?? Like those '77 Baseball 96s... On the ones you thought would grade higher, I suggest taking another look at back centering. This failing explained some of my disappointments.

which didn't get graded because I failed to put a minimum grade on it. I didn't know that I needed to do that. They just taped a SGC label over the PSA holder with a designation of "MIN" I will contact them to ask what this means and how I should do this for next time.

Very interesting. Could you scan the card and upload? I am interested to see the label. Please let us know what this label signifies? Does it mean it would graded a mint if you okayed the crack out? Is this a regular service?? Maybe Seano will read this and let us know...

The MIN label means that the minimum specified grade was not achieved -- so they don't crack the card out of the holder. I guess estang didn't specify the minimum grade, so the folks at SGC chose the conservative path and didn't crack it out. MIN doesn't equal MINT.

I can tell from my crossover experience that SGC will not crack a card out for crossover without a minimum grade being specified and met. When a card fails to meet the specified minimum grade, SGC usually tells you what it would have graded - although the reason(s) for failing to meet the minimum grade are not provided.
