Hello to everyone. I have been a "lurker" here for a long, long time. For some reason, the boards would allow me to register a name but I could never sign on. I always got some type of computer glitch. For some reason, I tried it again and I'm able to get in. I'm so happy! I've wanted to share in topics of discussion with everyone here for a while.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm 33 and I'm a Deputy Sheriff here in Va. (hence the vintagedeputy name). I have some newer cards but my interest lies in vintage (pre-80) material. I have quite a few sets registered on SGC as they have been my grader of choice for a few years. I have quite a few raw cards that I hope to submit to SGC soon to add to my registry.
Thanks!

Old, dense-headed hammers are cool. Best nail pounders.

First off, thanks for the welcome! After I made my initial post, I again had problems logging in and could not reply until today. Thanks to Dena and the tech support folks. I'm back in for now. I check these boards daily so if for some reason, I dont reply, its because something in my computer is stuck once again and I cant log in properly.
VaYank - to respond to your question, my sets are listed under "Deputy". All of the sets that I have registered only contain a few cards at best. I have a large stack of cards here that need to be sent out. I have quite a mixture of everything from a 1952 Berk Ross Ralph Kiner to some really nice 1977 Topps stars. My main concept in the set registry is building sets that may not necessarily be the highest grade possible. I believe that VG-Ex condition cards are just as enjoyable as NrMt ones when they are vintage. You'll see alot of SGC 40's and 50's in my sets.

FabFrank,
I'll be a posting fool! For months and months I waited for the registry to appear. When it did, I anxiously entered my cards. I tried and tried to get on the boards but the system would always glitch up on me. It would say that I was signed in but then it would say that my name and password weren't recognized. There's been so many topics that you all have covered in that time period. I had input on all of the subjects but was unable to communicate. I'm glad to see that the board and registry are alive and well. I've been touting SGC for an eternity now. I'm sure all the SGC folks who used to do all of the Richmond Tuff Stuff shows will remember me. For the longest time, I've reccomended SGC to anyone who'd listen and I shouldered the brunt of laughter from collectors about how "PSA is King"........who's laughing now?, PSA fans.....lol.
