Old, dense-headed hammers are cool. Best nail pounders.

Ron, looks like we are right on top of eachother -- mine was received on 7/2, scheduled to ship 8/1...198 cards.

VintageDep, my experience is that the ship date will not be updated. If you read the explanation, it says that it is only an estimated date and may be impacted by things such as holidays, shows, weather, etc.

Here's to good luck to all 3 of us!

I recently decided to have my personal set of 1954 Red Mans graded. I sent in 56 cards on 7/14 and expect grades by 7/30, if I'm real lucky. I brought 13 of the star cards from the set to the National and received some nice results. One SGC 96 (Kluszewski ). five SGC 88s (Kell-Chic, Philley-Phil, Ford, Berra, Snider), five SGC 86s (Kell-Bos, Mele-Chic, Rizzuto, Campy, Reese), and two SGC 84s (Slaughter, Hodges). The 86s look like 88s and the 88s like 92s, but you know how tough these guys are!! Very consistent results, though. I am pleased . I'm hoping for similar results with the semi-stars and commons. Hope the National doesn't delay the results for too many days. I'll be taking pictures of these cards and placing them in the registry by the end of August. I believe the set superiority for this 1954 set will come in at around a 88 to 89.

mrredman,
I hope that you and aconte had a few cold beverages in AC and discussed this...otherwise, it is looking like a rumble at the top of the '54 redman registry!

Aconte's 1954 set is really amazing considering he has only been at it for a couple of years. I have had the opportunity to collect them for the past 21 years. You would expect the 18-year head start I had should be reflected in the results of the set.

I showed aconte my list of 1954s at AC and I believe his comment was "you are going to blow me away". I haven't seen any of the 56 cards I just sent in, but the set already contains two 98s, five 96s, thirteen 92s, and fifteen 88s. I may be lucky and have a set with a superiority in the 90s.

Can't wait for those 56 cards to be returned!! As always, Aconte will have first crack at my extras.

Emailed SGC today as its my estimated shipping date and they said that my cards would go out today or tomorrow. They even replied to my email in an hour and a half. These guys are awesome!

Just an FYI. Although SGC expected to get my cards out last Thurs or Fri, I heard from them today that the cards are shipping today. Not sure if this will impact you similarly.

Regards

Ron
