Some of those appear under-graded. Wonder if they would cross to PSA 7 or 8? I don't need any for my set, or else I'd be all over these cards. Still, with the recent prices on 1959 Topps on eBay....hmmm.

Doesn't Dan Markel despise SGC? What is he doing buying/selling their cards? Strange.

Makes the 88 I won last month seem like a bargain:

I despise paying property taxes every year, dislike flushing my FICA payments down the drain and I really, really hate those colonoscopies, but I still do all of them.

As for Markel, I recall his problem was with not being allowed to defend himself on these boards while his accuser got pass after pass after pass. I've known Dan to buy SGC slabs for crack and cross, so "despise" may be a bit harsh.

You certainly did get a bargain. Good job! The scan is pulled, how is the centering?

The centering is a perfect 50/50 along the long sides and 35/65 top/bottom with the narrow border up near the flip. A very wise collector once told me narrow borders at the top are preferable to any other of the three sides. He was right. Pick any four cards, all with o/c to a different side. The o/c toward the flip will almost always have the best eye appeal. The only possible exception is a horizontal card, such as a team card or a 1955-56 card. Then it depends on how you hold it to view it. The Yankees 7 that sold this week is short to the top of the card if held horizontally. Maybe that helped the auction, although I expect it was just a minor bidding war.

I'm glad those bidders on the 7 didn't see the 8 last month.
