Just got my cards in. I need to make a choice from each of the four pairs below. In each case, the newly graded card is on the left. When I bought them raw, I thought they would be upgrades to my Registry Set, but am a little disappointed in the grade. Which ones would you choose to keep and why?

Boyer

Arias

Throneberry

Miranda


I might add that I'm partial to sharp corners over centering. Also sharp focus/register, combined with deep, rich colors make me very happy. But these are tough calls for me. Undoubtedly, I'll keep looking for upgrades, but what do I do with these?

Okay, I'll play!

I like the Boyer on the right. Even though the centering and corners are better on the left one, the color really pops on the other - and the white is shockingly white.

I like the Arias on the right for the same reason -the color. But I don't like the centering on the left one, and I'm very partial to well-centered '59 Topps - especially red ones.

I like the Throneberry on the right because I don't like the tilt on the left one.

And I like the Miranda on the left, unless that's a scuff mark and not a scanner artifact inside the right border of the card. If it's a scuff, I'll take the one on the right.

Man, it's tough to find decent upgrades when you actually care how the cards look, isn't it?

Boyer -- LEFT due to centering
Arias -- RIGHT cleaner image and better T/B centering. R/L centering is a toss-up
Throneberry -- RIGHT, I don't like the tilt on the other card
Miranda -- RIGHT, I don't like the print schmutz on the other card

Wait a minute, I can't agree with FYS.... \:o

I'd go:

Boyer - Right one due to color but the print circle above the "t"
in Cletis bothers me. The edges and corners look nicer too.

Arias - Right one due to color and centering

Throneberry - Right one due to color and centering and the left
has print circles on it.

Miranda - Right one. Don't like the print smudge on the left one.
Also, the yellow is bangin' on the right one and corners look
stellar. Looks like an 86 to me! \:\)
