Hi Everyone,

I thought it might be nice to share a significant find with the board. A Canadian auction house is offering a complete 1910-11 Sweet Caporal Postcard SGC graded set in their current auction. This is apparently the first graded set to ever be sold, and some collectors are speculating that it could sell for over $200,000.

These cards don't come around too often, so I thought some collectors would like to see cards they might not have known existed. I personally think these are great looking nearly 100 year old cards.

SGC Graded Hockey

Wow, Brian! That was a very neat post! I have never seen any of those cards before and some of the other collectibles beiong auctioned there! It was interesting. I think I'll bid it up to $30 grand! (SMILE) The set was already commanding 25 grand now! Very nice stuff!

That set is definatly a keeper but for someone with much deeper pockets than I. Thanks for the thread so we all can take a look.
I have noticed as of late that it seems a lot of really nice stuff has been coming up for auction in both condition and rarity.

This auction ends in under 72 hours.

Any guesses on the final selling price?

Brian

I will guess $105,000 out the door.

$165,213 was the final hammer.

Pretty impressive price for a truly rare set.
