This forum needs some action, and I know several guys here collect the pre-war cards. So, how about posting the favorite pre-war card from your collection? If you don't own any pre-war, how about posting the pre-war card you'd like to own some day? Share some scans!

I'm a prewar novice that has been collecting T206 portraits. While it is hard to pick a favorite, I'll post a few that I like.

When you decide to sell that set, let me know.

Of course, I will have to buy a winning lottery ticket first, or else cash out my 201(k), but let me know anyway. I'd like to think I'm included in the discussion/negotiation.

Matt--great cards! The Diamond Stars are such a classic set, and they look tremendous in high grade. It'll be a nice project to follow the 57s.

Scott--I always love seeing your T206 portraits. I know the care you take to find nice examples, and the ones you posted certainly fit the bill!

If I ever had the money to afford collecting a high-end Pre-War set it would be the 1915 Cracker Jack Set. Talk about originality and HOF's! I have always loved this set...definitely a part of Americana!

Gotta love the T206 portrait cards. They look great in the SGC holders! I used to have several T206's and would have to call them my favorite pre-war cards. Needless to say, I'm sorry I sold them now! I would also have to say I like 1940 Playball and 1938 Churchman's boxing also. They don't have color photos that pop like some other sets, but something about those sets just appeals to me.

Thanks, T.

I guess I do go a bit overboard with that Feller. It's one of my favorite cards, and I show it off whenever I can.

Here's another card from my '38 set, just to add a little variety.

Here's another of my favorites - not really a baseball card, although Doubleday is so closely associated with the game, it almost qualifies. This is also my oldest card.

Love the Feller, super sharp in that high grade.

The T3 set is one of my favorites and the Cobb just stands out unreal(one of my all time favorite cards is the Clarke from this set)

Sweet Doubleday first time I have ever seen that CDV, cool card.

The art work on the Smokers card looked so cool I checked the internet to see a few others. There are no named individuals in the set, they just picture generic people from various parts of the world.

No I don't own these, in my dreams! Too bad they are so expensive, because in my opinion this is the most beautiful baseball card set ever produced! This Anson went for $14k in 2007 and the Kelly went for $2400 recently in REA auctions. BEAUTIFUL!
