Hey Scott!
Thanks! I am very excited to see the grades I get on this lot! This was the lot of 58's I purchased from Ron Burgundy a few months ago. I dropped them off at the Strongsville show to Brian! Man, I wish I could do that every month....what an easy way to submit to SGC! I can't wait for the National to get here!
I will post the poppage right here as soon as grades appear!
Thanks again!
EARL

Earl, good luck on your sub. I like the new sig. line, but I would swap out Bender for Lajoie.
Matt HI Matt!
Thanks! I am excited about this sub. It has been in since May 20th. So, getting closer! I love the Cracker Jack cards! Of all the prewar cards they are my most favorite! I really like this better than the others I've made. Not sure if I had a Lajoie picture to work with and so Bender was included.

no, the centering is all over the place on them, i knew most would be nine, you do well to get a 10 on 93 topps stuff, or 92 topps, both jeter, chipper, and mannys rcs naturally lol there are few 10s on sgc and prob even less on psa pop report if i could see it
the 3 93 topps jeter 10's, one gold, paid for all of it anyways, and the adrian peterson 100 pristine will be a burner if if he dont break his legs, dud out, or get hurt i keep all the 10s anyways, ill sell the stuff in 9s eventually, i just am in a manny/griffy/chipper/jeter /brodeur/ rc hoards kick right now

Poppage is imminent.
Just checked the population report and found increases in cards that just happened to be on my invoice that's due to pop this week. Pretty good news for my set. All cards were purchased raw and submitted hoping for 86 or better. Hope to have scans by the weekend if the mail is timely. Some of these or the cards they replace in my set will be for sale.

Yes, he has some nice 57's. I've never looked closely, but I suspect the best ones are commons like the 59's I find. Which ones in particular should I look for, or just any nice ones?

I am missing card #s: 5, 149, 154, 201, 287, 288, 307, 333, 398, and 406. I would take any of these in 88 or better quality.
I would also be interested in any commons you thought would pull a 92 or 96, if they would upgrade my set.

I'll see what I can find. If that's all you need, I can only imagine how tough they are to find in high grade. I still have over 40 cards in 1959 I'd like to upgrade from 84 or worse. Plus another 225 or so that are "merely" 86. An 86 is fine with me since it's better than NM, which is what I collect. But if I see a nice one that could improve upon that, I usually take it.
To be down to 10 cards, I fear what it will take me to finish mine from that point. Some may just have to remain 84.

These are not for sale, but will go in my Registry set. The undergrades (cards these replaced) are for sale and are listed in a B/S/T thread.
Waited a long time to find a 2nd year Roseboro this nice. A HUGE upgrade from my 84.
Likewise on Solis, a tough card for me. Another LARGE upgrade from my 84.
Finigan's last card, this is also a bear to find in high grade. I'm fortunate to find it raw. I passed on a PSA 8 about a year ago as the auction got away from me. Glad it did. I like this one better and it does nothing for PSA sales.
Also Hegan's last card (his son Mike's rookie is a high number 1967). I've got two of these in 88, but my first one is a bit o/c and the colors are nicer on this one, too. So, yes, the other 88 is for sale, not this one.
Pena rookie is true bear of a card. Only 9 have ever been graded in any grade by SGC and just one higher than this one. Randy's set probably has the 92, and it must be stunning if it's better than mine. I am thrilled to have scored this one in raw form and glad SGC got to grade it.
Submitted a PSA 7.5 as a crossover earlier this year, but SGC didn't agree to cross it. So it sold. Recently found this one raw and it made my target grade of 86. Tough card for me, so I'm glad to put it behind me for now.
Shantz in PSA 7's go for $180-$200 all the time. My 84 is o/c both ways, but has nice colors. This one is a little better centering-wise and the colors are comparable. At $5 plus a grading fee, how could I go wrong?
Another brutally tough card. I actually think my 84 could be a better card since it's centering is dead-on 50/50. But 86 is my target grade on this set, so I'm leaning toward using the 86 and selling the 84. Somebody's gonna get the greatest NM 7 Amaro Rookie on the planet.
I've subbed more Romano rookies than just about any other card trying to improve on my 84. Finally found one that SGC agreed with me on. I've had some killer 84's, so I'm happy to put this one behind me for a while.
Schmidt's another elusive card I've submitted many of trying to upgrade. They all seem to come back 84 due to centering or a printer smudge on the upper left side border. This 86 has neither problem, so I'm a happy collector.
I'm showing this 84 (1) because it's an upgrade to my other 84 Moore and (2) because it's a dang nice card for the grade. Good centering seems to elude this 1959 pennant-winning White Sox pitcher.
Let me know if you're interested in any of the lesser grade cards these replaced. Most are scanned and priced in a B/S/T 1959 thread.

Good looking cards and nice narrative. Why don't you keep 96s for your set?
Matt
Rare to find raw and frankly above my pay grade to buy them already graded. I've subbed a few that came back 96: Colavito, Dave Sisler, Hank Foiles and the Herrera come to mind. Maybe a Maglie? I can buy several 88's or 92's for the price of one 96. Bottom line, it's just a matter of focus and setting boundaries. If I color too far outside the lines, I spread myself too thin and would never be satisfied with just a handful of mint 96 cards.

Just a newbie on having my raw cards graded. I took advantage of the April Special for 1965-Present. Had the grades appear on my invoice today.
Overall I'm pleased with the results but have a couple that didn't turn out like I thought they would:
1 1965 Topps 74 RICO PETROCELLI ROOKIE 88 2 1965 Topps 95 BILL MAZEROSKI 88 3 1965 Topps 126 DODGERS Team 96 4 1965 Topps 200 JOE TORRE 88 5 1965 Topps 220 BILLY WILLIAMS 84 6 1965 Topps 293 ANGELS Team 96 7 1965 Topps 545 JESUS ALOU High# SP 88 8 1965 Topps 570 CLAUDE OSTEEN High# SP 88 9 1966 Topps 544 CARDINALS ROOKIES High# 84 10 1966 Topps 552 BIRDIE TEBBETTS High# SP 86 11 1966 Topps 561 CHOO CHOO COLEMAN High# 86 12 1966 Topps 566 MIKE CUELLAR High# SP 86 13 1966 Topps 569 ORLANDO MCFARLANE High# SP 84 14 1966 Topps 570 ART MAHAFFEY High# SP 88 15 1966 Topps 576 DAVE NICHOLSON High# SP 86 16 1969 Topps 50 BOB CLEMENTE 80 17 1972 Topps 309 ROBERTO CLEMENTE 84 18 1968 Topps 3 N.L. RBI LEADERS 92 19 1968 Topps 374 BOB CLEMENTE All-Star 80 20 1968 Topps 480 MANAGER'S DREAM 70 The '65 Billy Williams is stunning other than left-to-right centering. Same with the '69 Clemente, centering off top-to-bottom. I need to figure out the 70 grade on the Managers Dream as I thought it was a 84 worst case.
Of course my eyes ain't what they used to be (and they were never too great). Thinking about investing in a loupe (sp?), any recommendations?

You got some really nice grades on the 65s. Are you going to build any sets?
Matt
Matt, I have (in my non TPG opinion is) a NM+ set of raw 1965's. I really had no plans to have any of the cards graded until the wife said "what are we going to do with all these friggin cards if something happens to you". So I figured I should do something to protect her and the cards.
Would love to have all 598 cards graded and in SGC slabs but in reality I don't have the coin to do it. My plan is to get most of the star and minor star cards graded.
As with many sets my commons are in better shape than my minor stars and my minor stars are better than the major stars (on average). My 1st sub received a 96 Kaline, 88 Koufax, 86's for F.Roby, Catfish RC, Yaz and Oliva, 84's for Clemente, Mantle, Banks, Ford, McCovey and Brock. Also got an 80 for a really sharp Pete Rose and I'm not sure why???
When I receive this shipment from SGC I will register a '65 set and upgrade on occasion.

They only do that if you are severely "Registry" challenged. And I don't think they would continue to do it, time after time.

What's Happening Everyone?
Well, a long while back I posted a 30 card lot of 1958's that I purchased. (You can find the link here somewhere!) I posted pictures of the raw cards and solicited opinions. At that time I received a mixed review on the raw 58's! Well, the waiting is over....the POPPAGE has arrived and this is how the card lot graded out>>> From the 30 card lot I had graded - I received 7/88's, 4/86's, 10/84's, 8/80's & one oddball 60! That is 21 NM or better cards!!! Unbelieveable! I guess the initial $170 for a 33 card lot was a good investment with these results!?

From a couple weeks ago, all were crossovers from PSA. Not bad generally. I took a huge hit on the Diamond Stars Dickey, that went from a PSA 6 to SGC 40, not a smart decision by me to submit it with no minimum.

I may Matt, I was never really planning on getting the whole set anyway, just the stars. But I have found a new love, that is called non-sport. I change my mind more than a woman sometimes.
I am the same way when it comes to card collecting. It takes me 10+ false starts before I can finally settle on which set I am going to build. Good luck on the non-sport adventure. There are many sets out there with incredible artwork on them.
Matt

Too bad about the Dickey, three grades is a steep drop.
Yes, painful.
What grade did PSA give the CJ Tinker?
The Tinker was only a PSA 2, but a nice looking one, if not for the trimming.

Well it look like mine is about to pop and if the "check the pop report" strategy works I have the following highlights from 25 cards from 1981-1992
18-96's and the following 98's 1981 Topps Tim Raines RC (I'm stoked about this one. 81's are tough) 1984 Topps Nolan Ryan 1991 Topps Cal Ripken 1991 Topps George Brett
Pretty good results as I thought most all were in the 96-98 range when I sent them in.

Well the POP report has been adjusted, just waiting for the final review, but it looks like I have some pretty good results coming. Definitely saved the best for last when I was checking the pop report. I will post final grades when they pop.

Kind of a buzz kill, I had 5 grades drop after the review. #6 went from 92 to 88 and I had 4 96's go to 92's (Royals, Fisk, Nettles, Perez)
Overall still pretty satisfied but it was a let down to see that many drop. I guess I'll just have to quit checking the pop report and wait a day until the grades are posted.

Nice results. I purchased my first Redman card and packaged it off to SGC.
1955 Redman Sal Maglie - graded out at an SGC 80. Card should arrive tomorrow. Though I focus only on SGC 88 or higher for my collection, I plan on keeping this card.
The other results:
1949 Elmer Singleton #147 (High No) = SGC 88 1955 Golden Stamp Hank Greenberg = SGC 88.
A small sub this time, work and finances have been keeping me on the sidelines regarding cards.

Overall pretty pleased as most of these were right on what I pre-graded them at. I'll have to take a look at the 72 Killebrew, the Ryan was a borderline 88 until I dropped it on the bottom left corner. I was kind of hoping that I would get a pity grade of what the card once was. Oh well.

That is a wicked high end 79 Ryan. You won't see to many that nicely centered with 4 evenly sized borders.

I think SGC got it right on all of them.
That 79 Topps Ryan is amazing, congrats.
Unless it is my eyes not working properly I think the Fisk doesn't have the sharpest upper left corner and bottom right, but of course I could be wrong.
Again, congrats on those studs!!

All are very nice. I find 1973 Topps cards to be pretty difficult to find or place into an SGC 96 slab. I really like the McCovey.

Earl,
I needed to save the file as a .gif rather than a jpg. Now that I know this, I'll update my post tonight and add some other new cards.

I agree - it's always really exciting when the grades pop.
Wow - 79 card sub - you're going to wear out your scanner. Good luck - that's a monster sub.

Received my first crossover today. Added to my 59 Topps FB are # 129 Ollie Spencer, was PSA 8,now SGC 8 also # 160 Mel Triplett, was PSA 7, now SGC 8. Triplett looks so much nicer in SGC holder. Had a 54 Topps Rizzuto come back recolored. Why would someone do that? Card would have been graded high, in fact was in an 8 holder from third tier company. I had it graded in person about ten years ago at the National or large show in Cleveland. I am not bright enough to post pics here but I do have pics on my registry set. Only took me three tries.

...that's a very nice looking Triplett, Brick! Do you have any 59 FB you'd like to trade or sell? Starting that set and working on it this year is one of my goals. I think that is one of the sweetest football sets of the 50's!

I was expecting better but I have not submitted any cards in 3 years. I guess I need to be more thorough in pre screening.

35 Card December Special popped today. Overall I'm pleased and it is about what I expected.

I had the Autos slabbed for protection and knew some were NM. All the Percy Harvins were pack pulled....The A. Rod Auto was from Ebay, the A. Rod SP RC was from Ebay for $31...The Bonds and Clemens RCs were both bought on Sportlots Auctions, and the 1965 HR Leaders Mantle was from what I bought from Blackie as were the 1984 Donruss cards....
Now I have to get my Jan sub ready and will probably be 30 or so Football cards and auto.
I slab all my autos just for the added protection and care less about the grades.
Comments welcome.

My babies returned to the nest today. Already getting a second sub together. I know some of you had interest in scans, but I don't want to post all 63 as it would be obscene. Please let me know if there were any in particular you wanted to see and I'll be glad to post a few.

My small 8 card sub popped today.
Invoice # : 1273702 Service : EXPRESS SPECIAL # of Cards : 8 Invoice Tracking Status Date Received 01/22/2010 Shipped 02/01/2010 Details Item # Year Publisher Set Card# Player Name Description Grade 1 1917 Collins-McCarthy (E135) 14 JOE BENZ 30 2 1920 W516-1 4 RAY SCHALK A 3 1928 W502 37 EARL SHEELY A 4 1941 Goudey 9 BILL DIETRICH 80 5 1935-36 Diamond Matchbooks SAM JONES 40 6 1935-36 Diamond Matchbooks RAYMOND PHELPS 40 7 1935-36 Diamond Matchbooks LEE STINE 40 8 1938 Goudey Heads-Up 287 MARVIN OWEN 60
Some thoughts on my poppage...I was very happy with the 41 Goudey (a raw eBay purchase). I was hoping that the two strip cards would get a numerical grade (oh well). I think it must be tough to get a high grade on matchbooks (the folds and staple holes have got to be the grade killers). The 38 Goudey was a PSA 5 crossover.
I can put up scans when the cards arrive - if anyone wants to see them.

Great cards!
Wow - Curt Schilling is really young in that 64 Topps card - I knew he was old, but I had no idea! I guess if it really was Curt, the card would have been called "Sox Bloody Sockers."

...nice scanner...what do you use? That is a sharp looking Gaylord Perry RC for the grade! The 64 T Perry is nice too! What happened to the scan...cut cut off! Could you repost a nice scan of the card for me? Thanks!

Irwin, that Mantle was my first big card. I got it in 92-93 when I was 10-11. My mother bought it for me for about $12. It was big money for me back then. I should send it in to SGC and have it slabbed just for sentimentality.

We have poppage!!!
So so results....The Robinson and Gibson were crossover from PSA. Gibson 7 made it to a 84 but Brooks 8 didn't make a 88.
The 1968 Howser was a raw buy from Ebay for $1.50 as was the 1957 Dillon also for $1.50.
The 54 Bowmans are for my set.

The image that you want to post needs to be hosted online. So in my case this is what I did:
1. Went to my SGC account and opened up my invoice 2. Then I hit (CTRL)(Print Screen) to capture the image 3. Next I went to Paint and erased my invoice# and login name 4. Then I uploaded the picture into my blog, but you can use any host like photobucket or shutterfly, COPY THE IMAGE LOCATION 5. Next click the "Enter an Image" icon on the post toolbar and paste the image location that you copied in the last step into the dialogue box that opens. 6. Hit preview post to see if your pic shows up if it doesn't then you did it wrong and should start back at step 1.
Hope this helps...

Thanks, I,ve got a ton of Shaun Alexander stuff myself. I watched him play high school here in Kentucky, and hoarded a bunch of his cards.

Awesome Vintage, yeah I watched him at Alabama and then followed him while he played for the Seahawks, I did the same and stashed away a lot of his Rookie Auto's and decided to sub a few. If you have any subbed I'd like see a scan if you have one.

If I can ever figure out how to post a picture. I haven't submitted any for grading but I do have the SP rookie, and the Upper Deck Auto Jersey. Those are the best 2. I have a bunch more lesser value cards. I think my topps chrome may be worth more than the SP now.

Here's my invoice for the February special. The grades have not popped, although I know they are completed because the invoice is blank. As far as the impending grades, I have every confidence that whatever deserves to cross will make it. I know there were a few cards I was not sure of. All in all, I am not worried. I expect a fair and honest appraisal...I always do or I would never submit another card! I feel if you do not trust or respect the process, then you'd be foolish to keep trying it out. In the end you will ALWAYS be disappointed. I offer my own experience and advice on CROSSOVER submissions...if you cannot afford to take a chance of a card dropping a grade then ALWAYS put the minimum grade as your preference and not any other. This way if it doesn't cross you have lost nothing but a little money and a little time. However, once the card is regraded as a bump down, you could lose a significant amount of value. So, I always play it safe and place the minimum grade as what I will accept. Every card on this invoice was submitted under this pretense. Whatever doesn't cross, I will put back on the market for sale and try to find something else. That's how I approach crossovers. I have to trust the graders even when they may make a mistake!

I was just going to say the same thing as aconte. The black SGC gasket really sets off the black inset line that frames the photo. I almost wish I hadn't sold my 61 set a couple years ago. I kept the high # allstar subset. Maybe I'll cross it someday on a special. The black Sporting News headlines would look good in SGC slabs for sure.

I believe that all cards looks good with the black SGC gasket. That is why I try to cross over all my PSA/BGS cards to SGC. You simply can't beat the look of the SGC slabs.
I agree, The Sgc slab has the look and feel of a preservation piece much more than other slab in the industry. It's something you wouldnt mind setting on a shelf in your home and displaying.

My grades popped this morning on my 10 card Opening Day Special. I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get to 10 cards.
1955 Bowman Gil McDougald: 88 NM/MT 1958 Topps Eddie Mathews AS: 88 NM/MT 1959 Topps Harvey Haddix: 92 NM/MT+ 1964 Topps Ken Hunt: 88 NM/MT 1966 Topps Dick Nen: 92 NM/MT+ 1966 Topps Eddie Bressoud: 92 NM/MT+ 1966 Topps Joe Pepitone: 84 NM 1969 Topps Norm Cash: 88 NM/MT 1986-87 Fleer T. Cummings: 88 NM/MT 1978-79 Topps J. Sikma: 96 MT
The only real disappointment was the Pepitone. I would have bet the ranch that it was a lock for a 92. I will have to pour over it when the cards arrive. I needed two to get me to the 10 min requirement, so the Sikma and Cummings made it into the submission. The key cards for me were the '55 McDougald (which is undergraded at 88) and the '58 Mathews A/S (perfect centering w/ no card stock issues).

Awesome stuff Tom...I love the variety! From what I think I can tell about you, the value of the card is not the most important thing, but that 100 Sanchez may be a really expensive card!! Congrats on all of them. That Webber auto is awesome!!!

I just got a 21 card 1984 Donruss submission back for my registry set. All 96s with one 98. Here are some highlights:
The centering is so tough on the Carter RC - this was a crossover from a PSA 9

A classic second year HOFer card - another PSA 9 crossover

Another great second year HOFer card - and yet another PSA 9 crossover

A rare 98 from a raw submission - the centering in this set makes these almost impossible to get

Very nice high grade cards. I received a sub back a couple weeks ago, all 1968 Topps Game cards, I know, not to exciting.
I submitted 10 raw cards & received one 96 - Bill Freehan one 88 one 86 five 84s one 80 one 50 (oops, missed a hair line crease)
I was some what disappointed, but I'm submitting a 35 card mix (mostly 48 Bowman baseball and 68 Topps Game) on Saturday.

My second sub and first multi card. Some were way better than expected and some disappointing. What exactly is "short"? Is it not trimmed but just smaller than it is supposed to be? Any info would be great.

Here are the results of my most recent submission. I was some what disappointed by the 48 Bowmans, especially the one that only graded authentic. I'm interested in the reason, but will wait to see once I receive the cards back. I now have a complete 68 Topps Game set on the registry ( 84 and higher) again, so now I may work on upgrades to beat my old set someone else owns, which is in first place on the registry. I'll post a few pics when I receive the cards.

Sent in some cards on a crossover. Everything but the 2 PSA 7s i sent crossed. I didnt think they would as the cards didnt look to be strong candidates but I tried anyway. I am still learning how to grade and this just helped me. 1 1954 Bowman 49 HARRY BYRD 84 21954 Bowman 146 DICK GERNERT 88 31954 Bowman 186 RUSS MEYER 88 41954 Bowman 204 JACKIE COLLUM 84 51954 Bowman 219 HAL RICE 86 61953 Topps 37 ED MATHEWS 0 - G 71955 Topps 4 AL KALINE 0 - G 81960 Topps 475 DON DRYSDALE 86 91960 Topps 92 WHITEY HERZOG 86 101960 Topps 212 WALT ALSTON 88 111960 Topps 264 ROBIN ROBERTS 88
I get some more holes filled in my 54 Bowman set and also get some cards for my 60 Hall of Fame set as well.

Great high grade Topps and Donruss cards. I wish I could find some 68 Topps Game cards that would grade that high. Out of the last 24 that I submitted, I only received one 96 and four 88s. No 92s, and most were 84s. That's what I get for buying raw cards off ebay. The cards that received 96 and 88s were cards I bought else where.

Just picked these up at SGC today. Two more for my Arky Vaughan Master Registry set. I think Wheaties panels look great in the SGC oversized holder. I was really happy with the result on the 1936 Series 3 - it is really tough to get a numerical grade on a Wheaties panel since they are all hand cut.

Nice tough Arky Vaughan pickups, grats.
Love the E95 and cool T207, for some reason I try to avoid them as I can see myself being pulled into starting the set lol cool card from a great set.

Bumping this thread with the results of my latest sub...a group of oddball stuff for my type set. Everything was subbed raw with the exception of the Kamm W517, which was a PSA 6.5.
Kudos to SGC for the fast processing of the sub!

OH MAN!!!!!!!!!! I can just imagine the year 1952 at the Soda Shop getting a Ice Cream Float and opening a pack of 52's. Could you imagine pulling the card with the Sharp, Fine Painting Type look.
Pics like these never get old. Thanks for Sharing brother!

I've had these 2 cards laying around for a while, so I was glad that the Oversized Special came up last month. They arrived yesterday...

Tom, love the look of those cards. The top card says Canadian Butterfinger.............how in the world did they put a Big Card in a Candy Wrapper??

The term "Canadian Butterfinger" came about due to the fact that those cards were very similar to the premiums that Butterfinger put out in the US.
BTW, those cards didn't really get packaged with the product - if you bought a stick of gum for 1 cent, you were able to get one of these premiums. I was hoping that they would have put O-Pee-Chee on the flip, since they were the company that distributed them.
This link from the Old Cardboard website explains this issue a lot better than I can: 1934 V94 O-Pee-Chee Premiums

You can, Blackie. Just step into your time machine. You do have a time machine don't you? I could never deal with this hobby without my time machine. It's indispensable and saves me a ton of money. How else could I afford those pristine 1959 Topps? Dang centering and gum/wax stains is what drives me crazy. Fresh gum ain't so bad, though.

Sorry, no beer. I wasn't old enough to drink back then. If I got caught doing that, I'd be grounded for a hunnerd years.

Hello Folks. A first timer here at SGC, and just received the grades on my first submission. I am very satisfied.
1. 1971 Topps #220 Ron Santo, SGC 88. (None Graded Higher)
2. 1971 Kelloggs #65 Pete Rose, SGC 80 (Those pesky surface scratches only seen close to the light are tough when buying Kellogg's raw).
3. 1961 Topps #35 Ron Santo Rookie, SGC 86. Very Happy on a tough 60's HOF Rookie.
SGC experience was great for this newbie.

Also are the 1972 opc hull;s centred? I have the #227 Orr/park all star raw and centred with sharp corners, but with the rough cut too. I wish there was a sgc grading expert here to explain.

The Yzerman is the scoring leader card; my rookie is only an 8; the 72 hull's a pretty centered just a little corner whites; I have the #227 too ; centered/ white corners but not rough cut.

Worth noting got 5 E.O.T. out of my last two subs. 3 of them were raw subs, two cracked out of competition holders purchased from 4SC. Thus why I check for OPC cut much more likely to bid if it has it.

Good job, aconte. A new white whale on your list. I've got about a half dozen BVG 1952 that I will crack someday. Not sure if I'll sub them in a crossover or just keep them raw. But they will be cracked eventually. I can't stand Beckett slabbed cards.

Jean, that is Tim Horton of Donut fame, Correct? The 71-72 Dallas Smith is a tough card in that grade. Did most of those subs have the typical OPC Rough cut?

Why look for rough cuts? how much does this affect the grade? I have these 100 cards raw myself ;more off center than rough cuts, my off center last submission killed all my grades! Cheers!

Ctroop, your guess is as good as mine. There is a 1972 OPC #227 Orr/Park at 4 sharpcorners in Psa 9. It is centered, but has the rough cut. As many have said here recently, the rough cut shows there is no trimming.

I don't see a difference physically or psychologically (me) to off center or rough cuts ; if the card visually look good and have only these flaws ; then they should be no worse than Nm 7 and no better than 8. That's my rant for today, will scan some cards for rebuts later. Cheers.

My Wildcard Special sub grades just popped today for a mixture of prewar stuff that I sent in. Pretty much got what I expected except for the 4 cards that I cracked from PSA holders...all 4 came back 1 to 1.5 grades lower. Can't trust the number on the red flip for nuthin! Got a few of the new half-grades too. Everything else I subbed was bought raw.

Congrats Tom, very cool sub, love all the different types!!! Yea I take a lot of hits on crossovers too but if you like the card I always do it.
Wow, Amazing grade on the 31-32, a 60 on an old exhibit is equal to about an 88 on the 50-60's cards )) Let me know if you every want to trade it haha!
Also noticed you got 3 of the new half grades very cool!

OK...finally got the cards scanned. Here are some of the highlights. Sorry for the large scans!
My first 60 on a T206!...
Here's that 31-32 Exhibit Scott...
Another 60 for this Sporting News back too...
Here's what the new 35 graded cards look like. The 37 Exhibit has paste marks on the back, the 36 World Wide Gum has some blue fountain pen ink splotches on the back, and the T206 has a really soft lower left corner...
And finally, a couple more from my sub...

I just got another sub back from SGC today. It's a group of some oddball prewar issues for the 'ol type set.
Invoice # : 1291571 Service : 1900-1947 # of Cards : 9 Invoice Tracking Status Date Received 08/27/2012 Shipped 09/18/2012 Details Item # Year Publisher Set Card# Player Name Description Grade 1 1921-30 M.L. Die-Cuts WAITE HOYT 50 2 1921-30 M.L. Die-Cuts HARRY HOOPER 84 3 1941 Goudey 15 DARIO LODIGIANI 40 4 1932 W574 AL SIMMONS 60 5 1924 Willard's Chocolates (V122) 2 EDDIE COLLINS 40 6 1933 Tattoo Orbit R308 169 GEORGE EARNSHAW 40 7 1920 W516-1 4 RAY SHALK A 8 1920 W516-1 4 RAY SHALK A 9 1936-37 BF3 Pennants LUKE APPLING Type 3, Script A
I'm really happy with the grades that I got on the Hooper Die-Cut, Simmons W574, and Earnshaw R308. I was hoping to get numerical grades on the 2 Schalk strip cards, but since I checked the "A" box on the sub form for them to slab the Appling Pennant they went ahead and gave the strip cards the "A" grade too...
I'm working on getting scans of this latest poppage if anyone is interested in seeing them...

OK...got the cards from my latest sub scanned up.
I really like the way the Pennant looks in the SGC holder!
This card is from one of the most unattractive sets out there & tough to get in this grade (due to picture quality and most examples having glue residue or paper loss on the back). I was able to upgrade the 20 I already had...
Next is a nicer card of a HOFer from another obscure set...
I'm working on getting all 4 color variations (blue, green, red, yellow) for the 3 White Sox in the 1941 Goudey set - and this card completes my Lodigiani run...
This set was produced in Canada and only had 3 baseball players in it (the other 2 are Ruth and Cobb); the rest of the set shows other athletes from different sports. The Ruth and Cobb are known to be reprinted, so I was happy that this card was deemed authentic and received a numerical grade...
The next two cards are strip cards of Ray Schalk. They are both W516-1 examples, but are printed on different card stock, and have slightly different ink passes. There was a thread on Net54 where another member brought this topic up. Can you spot the differences?
And finally, a couple of HOFer Die-cut cards which came from a board game that was produced in the '20s. The Hooper is for my set, and the Hoyt will probably be put up for sale...
Sorry for the long post...thanks for letting me share the results from my sub!

OK great day as I got my 171 card sub in, wahoooo! I just starting to go through it but figured I would post a pic of it just out of the 2 boxes, its a true mix of types and sports. It always kills me when someone post a pic of their sub so figured to add to the pain, haha. Enjoy, I will get more pics up this week-
