I just bought my first SGC card. It's a 2006 Allen Ginter Josh Gibson SP Mini. The card looks amazing in a SGC holder! I'm going to send in my first submission. I can't wait!!
When I started this thread, I had just pulled a Buster Posey Rookie from a pack and was thinking about sending it in for grading. Shortly after, another collector made me an offer to buy that was really too good to pass up and I sold it! So unfortunately, I never got around to finding out if SGC would grade them. Good luck with yours. What card(s) from this set are you wanting to submit?
Upper Deck came out with a set of short prints called Double Take. The cards are just like the base card, but with little variations. For example, there is an Ichiro up on ebay and if you look at the two cards you will notice his bat is at a different angle and in the background there is an extra crossbar in the dugout. When 2010 Upper Deck was first released, they announced a bounty hunt(just like Topps Sparkle). But Upper Deck never followed through because of the MLB license and the second wave was never released so it's harder to find them. Not many collectors are going for the DT set. They are chasing the Exquisite cards, which are one per case.
Sad.... That Card MFGers are still restorting to these silly gimmick cards. sadder.... is that people still fall for it. I guess now days the cards just aren,t that exciting. Seems most are more interested in collecting the "Chance at making a profit" rather than any real interest in the cards themselves.
double takes, 1 of's , Gimmick cards, blahh, blah, blah, Its a shame what the hobby has become.
