yes those pesky print spots can be a bear with the 69 set. While I can tolerate a speck here or there, many times they can dominate the card and therefore make them very unappealing to me.

I know everyone has to work within one's budget when it comes to cards. Ive be fortunate, as a lifelong collector, to have had many of the higher grade cards in my collection long before all of the crazy "What's it worth" "investors" drove the prices to insaine levels we often see nowdays.

I have also been blessed to reach a point in my life that I have more disposable income that affords me the luxury of being able to buy the cards I desire more often.

This hobby has NEVER been about money to me. Its always the cards I desire. While it may be nice to think that the cards have some monetary value, If I never get one red dime back out of them it really doesn't matter. The sheer joy of being able to pull out the cards and be instantly transported back to my childhood is worth more than any dollar amount one could place on the cards.

AND NOW MORE CARD PLEASE!


Im a little more than 4 years now on my 1957 Set.
I started out looking for well centered EXMT cards and as usual have escalated to a disre for NM or better cards. With the addition of the Fred Cone Card Im now within 30 cards of the set.




The 1969 Set is now within closing distance with the addition of these two cards.



While I have about 15-20 cards I would like to upgrade(Centering) The Larry Csonka Rookie card is now the Only card I need. There is no shortage of them, but I need the right one. The print spots we spoke about earlier usually kill the deal for the card.

Drooling over the checklist. Whenever I see a great looking checklist like that, no marks, corners perfect, edges perfect, just a mint card, from that far back, I always wonder about the travels of that card. You know, when it was opened, was it opened and immediately lost in the house and sat there for 30 years, untouched? You know what I mean? What happened to that card thru the years.

Picked this up, not totally satisfied with the corner quality but the centering piqued my interest. I like how the picture shows the anticipation of Mantle about to launch that ball out of the park.

I always thought Mantle was trying to get out of the way of a curve that didn't curve and it hit him on the butt. I guess your scenario could have happened. But from the evidence in the picture....well, I'm just sayin'.

Little dots are scanner related. I know KSA gets a bum rap(deserved in some cases), but, this is a pretty sharp card. Not sheet cut, right border is not completely sharp. Just wanted to try my luck at buying a KSA OPC card

Nice Basketball-- The only basketball i got was when i bought a un-opened box of 1981's and opened them fresh and put them in the binder..tho i sent the larry byrds off to SGC and got high grades.
