I have what appears to be a 1915 Joe Jackson Cracker Jack card. Is there any definitive way to determine if I have an original card, and not a reproduction, prior to paying up to $200 for grading and slabbing? The back of my card bears #103, and is the standard size -- not the mini reprint from the 1990s. I cannot find a backside scan of an original for comparison with my card.

You should be able to cut and paste these into your browser to view both the front and back scans.

I dont think so. You see the back on the bottom where there is cardboard damage? I think thats where the reprint line was.

I also question the color of the cardboard. Hard to know about the cardboard without it being in hand, though.

I could be wrong...you might want to post that on Net54 for an opinion.

Sorry no good, as Yankeeno7 said the reprint line on back was scratched off. A few other things you can tell from the front to, the real cards were printed with no white, they used the background paper color was the white but on the reprints you can see the white does not blend in with the borders. Here is the fake next to a real one, look at the right border where his jersey hits the border, also just look at the clarity of his face-

Bought it for $5 at a yard sale 8 years ago -- I guess, I should have bought the tobacco cards the guy had for the same price? I was awaiting my Bar results back then and only had enough money for one card. Oh, well!

Here is a close up of the real one, you can not see any break in the border into his shirts, where the fake his shirt is a different color-
