With centering 90/10, do you really think the card will grade 80 or 84? I would have to say there's a good chance it might grade lower,

True just depends on the card so they seem to not downgrade as much, a pic would help a lot.

As the others have said, if it is as sharp as you say it would be worth while sending.

SGC does not have an o/c qualifier, although they do have minimum requirements listed for centering in their grading scale. It seems to me they can be pretty leniant on occassion.

A key card like the Ryan would likely draw a closer eye, but ya just never know what different graders at these companies can sometimes see or not.

Look at the horrible centering on these cards.

When you submit a card with 90/10 centering to PSA and requet "no qualifiers" they do the same thing - knock it down a grade or two.

Edited to add: I was just looking at this Robinson on eBay. It graded a 6 due to centering, but otherwise it looks like a NM (7) or NM+ (7.5) card. SGC bumped it down a grade, maybe a grade and a half due to centering.

I beleive that Robinson is within 70/30 centering which easily puts it into a 84 holder. It received a 6 for other reasons IMO.

I don't ever remember seeing a card with 90/10 centering in a 84 holder. If it would have otherwise graded an 8, I would think it would drop more than two grades. 90/10 is pretty bad.

Thanks guys. I'm not having any luck with getting a scan. I thought the copy machine at work was a color scanner, but it's not. All of the football cards that were shown have considerably better centering than my Ryan rookie does. The purple circle that says "Mets" in the upper left hand corner is completely on the card, but just barely. You can see just a glimmer of of the brown and white border between the circle and the edge of the card.

I think I'll send it in to see what happens. After all, I did get a good price on it, so even if it gets a pretty low grade, I doubt that the value will be below what I paid for it.
