I'm about to buy a 2001 pujols bowman graded rookie card. Here are my options which should I pick?:

SGC 96 for $100(possibly $90)
PSA 9 for $150 (but this is the gold version= higher value)
GAI 9 for $80 maybe $70

WHICH IS THE BETTER DEAL?

That's what I was thinking, but through my research, I read that PSA was better than SGC for modern cards. That SGC cards tended to be lower in value. Meaning a PSA 9 is better than a SGC 96. I mean certainly know SGC OWNS PSA in vintage grading but I'm not so sure in modern card grading. What are your thoughts?

Are you buying to keep or sell later on?

Well I'm not sure, that's why I want to buy the best bargain. Would you pay extra few bucks for a PSA 9 over an SGC 96? Assuming its the same card, modern card. Would your decision be different depending on whether you are planning to sell it or keep it?

My decision would be to buy the best looking card. I bet a buck right now that the best looking of the 2 is SGC96. Sight unseen - Am I correct? (Oh yea - don't even think about the GAI)

Is there a higher demand for the gold version?

If so, and if it is difficult to find, buy it.

If you want the regular version definitely pick SGC over GAI - GAIs reputation has take a major hit in the hobby these last 2-3 years.
