Pat, you're absolutely right, but it seems (at least to me) like it's happening more and more just recently. I just left TriplePlayVintage 3 negs (and possibly a 4th to come) because of their poor customer service.

First purchase. I waited two weeks after payment and still no cards (two separate items). I emailed them. No response. I emailed them again. No response. I left them a negative for each purchase. Funny thing is that the cards came the next day. But I didn't care that the cards were late. Big deal. It was their lack of response (communication) that pi$$ed me off.

Second purchase. I bought an Elston Howard card from them for my '56 Topps set. When it arrived, it had ink on the back that wasn't described in the listing. No bid deal. Mistakes happen. I sent it back for a refund along with a note with my name, username, transaction number and date, etc for easy reference. They received it, but no refund. I sent an email. No response. I sent another email. No response. Bam! Another neg!!!

My last purchase from them was last week. You would think the morons would have blocked me after 3 negs, but nope. I bought an item and paid on the 4th (week ago today). Today, I get the "Updates for your purchase..." email saying they shipped it out today. Why does it take a week after payment to ship an item? No, I won't neg them for that one, but why the crappy customer serice?

One other thing. They ship just like Blackie described. It's a miracle how the cards keep from getting bent.

On a good note, I bought an item from our own board member SMtJoy and it arrived the following day. Granted, I do live across town from him, but at least he shipped it quickly and the service was great. (Thank you, Scott!!!)

Anyway, my point is these big eBay sellers think they can treat you any way they want.

Your welcome David thanks again for the purchase!

As both a buyer and seller I try to be open minded when something happens and try to work thru it and always try and put myself in the buyers shoes when I have an issue selling. Just a few months ago I sent the wrong card to someone by mistake, once I was told what I did, I then did everything to get the buyer the card they purchased and then gave them a 20% refund on the card plus enough to cover the return postage and make it up to them. I would hope that customer would still purchase from me in the future.

That said there is always bad apples and I have a few people I just will not deal with because of past issues and how they handled them.

I think the same thing happened to me David with Triple Play. Guy would not respond to emails and my card arrived several weeks after I bought the damn thing...

My recent experience with TriplePlay Vintage;

I bought a raw 1953 Bowman Durocher from them that was described as EX+. When I got the card,(less then a week later) it was beautiful except for the fact it had a 3/8" magic marker line on the back.

I wrote them and to their credit they responded very quickly telling me to send the card back for a full refund and that they were sorry for the inconvenience.

I decided to keep the card for several reasons and just didn't leave them any feedback.

Well, they just left me positive feedback yesterday and got an email informing me the card was just shipped out.

I purchased the card Febuary 19th!

Same thing happened to me with the notification emails. On Tuesday I received several notifications from them telling me that my items shipped - that I purchase over a month ago and already received.

The same day they also left me positive feedback including the items that I neg'd them on. I guess that's just what happens when a business gets that big and just does that much volume. Kind of sad really that they lose focus of customer service.
