If one were to have just finished preparing one's tax return and one found that he(she) paid almost the exact same tax rate as both Warren Buffett (a democrat) and Mitt Romney (a republican) have announced that they paid, should one become a democrat or a republican when purchasing high quality collectibles?

You wouldn't get the collectible as a demoncrat because you would expect the republican to buy it for you.
