The media hated Teddy Ballgame. He thought sportwriters were trash, and never gave the creampuff interviews they wanted. Very similar to
Steve Carlton.

Bbo, speaking of Ted Williams, do you think it is a wise move to buy some of his early 50's cards in Good to very Good condition.

I just love his 1954 topps #1 card, but it costs a fortune in decent grades. I can get a G/VG raw version for about $80, and ten submit it to SGC. Who knows?

I'm not expecting any sportscard purchase in that grade range to be a wise move. I would only buy it if I liked looking at it.

I guess it depends on your budget. If your budget only allows you to buy that card in that grade range, so be it. However, if that is the case then having it graded would definitely not be a wise move. You wouldn't add any value to the card.
