I would grade the card just for the authenticity and and the preclusion of any alterations.
I would agree if it were a high dollar card, but we're talking a $45 card here. Why spend money to grade it? After all, why would someone alter an EX card only worth $45? I think I'm missing the point.
That said, you can usually pick up a nice PSA 5 or SGC 60 cheaper than you can buy a raw one in the same condition. If you buy a graded one, so be it, but I wouldn't spend the extra money to grade a raw one in EX condition.
Here is mine when it was graded. I recently freed it from it's tomb along with many dozen other cards. I like it much better raw.
