I would agree if it were a high dollar card, but we're talking a $45 card here. Why spend money to grade it? After all, why would someone alter an EX card only worth $45? I think I'm missing the point.

That said, you can usually pick up a nice PSA 5 or SGC 60 cheaper than you can buy a raw one in the same condition. If you buy a graded one, so be it, but I wouldn't spend the extra money to grade a raw one in EX condition.

Here is mine when it was graded. I recently freed it from it's tomb along with many dozen other cards. I like it much better raw.

David you made a good point concering raw card prices. I still cannot figure why some raw bring higher price when a buyer could hammer down a same grade slabbed card for less.

I think the raw goes higher because there is hope that the card is undergraded and could be subbed for a higher grade

You're right. We shifted gears from a '56 Snider to a '54 Williams and I missed it somehow. I see that now after reading through the thread again.

Exactly. And speaking of '54 Williams, here are mine.

Just goes to show you can get a nice card with decent eye appeal in mid-grade.

How strange? Both shots show a head attached to a body.
