Hey guys I just pick up this card from eBay and it looks awesome, the best centered I have seen.My question is do you think they may have mis graded this card? Let me know what you think..Thanks [img][/img] [img][/img]
There is a PSA 9 on ebay right now and this card looks better. Now having card in hand it looks like a 9 or at least 8.5.I was just asking opinions in case i'm not seeing something.
(From the scan) Possibly the little bit of chipping along the bottom edge? It certainly does NOT distract from the eye appeal in my opinion, but it may be the reason it's not graded higher? No idea, just guessing here.
My "opion" ( sorry, couldn't resist) is that that grade looks pretty accurate. I could see it grading a 8.5 possibly, but I don't think a 9.
Shawn pointed out the chipping on the bottom border and that was the first thing I noticed too before I even read his comment. Also, looking at the back scan, there appears to be a top right corner ding.
Both of these could just be the scans playing tricks on our eyes. Either way, that is one sweet card! Congrats on a nice pick-up.

Corners and t/b centering prevent it from grading higher. If the submitter would have got the head grader, Raiza, it would be a 7. Salt it away as a solid 8 and move on.
Ive been a high grade collector of the 72 Set for most of my life and had many a Roger Staubach Rookies in hand. Its a tough card with the centering and that one is as fine as any I have seen. Congratulations on a centerpiece card.
