Got the cards back last night, I will get some scans up. I do have to admit the cards look great in the SGC holders.
srs1a, I think you are correct in the respect that SGC seems to be tougher on the corners. The cards may just be more accurately graded now, which I am 100% ok with. I still think a couple are off though.
The BGS subgrades are a hinder as much as they help. It is one of the reasons why I am moving away from Beckett. Yeah, you can see what subgrade brought the card down, but the overall score gets confusing. It is not an average, can only be .5 above lowest, etc. Not to mention when you have one low out of four, it just draws attention to that flaw. Couple that with the gold/silver labels, BVG being a completely different standard, and yet another type/color for JSA authenticated, the OCD in me hates all that non-uniformity.
SMt.Joy - Beckett has a registry??

Well they used to have one haha but was really just using it as the example most use to explain some of the crazy psa card prices they can bring if they are in very competitive set vs selling into a set with no registry rarely brings any premium from all the grading companies.
Cant wait to see pics!

I'm guessing the Merry has a spider wrinkle somewhere...rotating the card under a light using a magnifier you might be able to see it(maybe?) And unless there is something about the corners or edges that isn't shown on the Eowyn, the only other possibilities are probably a register/focus issue or a bit of a strange cut of the card(neither one from that I can tell from the scan). Great cards regardless of the grade opinions! Congrats!

Those are very unique cards BigRedOne. I agree it is amazing how bad the cards look in the PSA holder, it just looks like it is floating in frosted plastic. Does that card bounce around like other psa cards?
Thanks for the compliments on the cards guys. I am a huge Lord of the Rings/Tolkien fan. The only two autos I am still looking for are John Ryhs-Davies (Gimli) and Peter Jackson. Even though Gimli was a central character in all three movies, he is only a limited signer for the first set. It is a hard to find card.
The Merry is also very limited, so I probably won't be replacing/upgrading any time soon.
