Has the members of the SGC boards ever attempted to assemble a set together and sell for profit?

This might be a good contest between this board and the CU... JUST A THOUGHT.

Cool idea, but I guess it depends on what you mean by "contest." What are we competing for? Fastest to complete? Biggest profit?

ALL good questions... I did not put much thought into this idea to provide answers. I was focusing on our eagle eyes for selecting the best eye appeal cards...

I think that would be an interesting project, only issue being the differnt budgets of board members and the set selected.

Too much like communal living and socialism. Prone to disagreements and infighting. Too difficult to find SGC cards, so buy raw and submit is the only viable option. No way SGC commons sell for anywhere near PSA counterparts. Therefore, likely a losing proposition. I prefer to spend my money on sets I like, not necessarily the one others like. Heck, the loneliest thread on the board is the BST section. We can't even support each other by buying fellow members cards often enough.

Count me out. (I sound like that bald-headed imbecile on Shark Tank.)

The sum of the parts on these sets is almost always more than the whole i.e. people buying singles/lots and piecing together a set even if bought at nice $'s would still bring less when sold as a whole set than the original purchase $'s
