Check out this 1967 Willie Mays PSA 9

What were the graders at PSA thinking?

On eBay with a BIN of $599.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-67-Topps-20...=item4847fd742e

I love the seller's description and how he provides a screen shot of the VCP average. "This is one of the most incredible BINs we have ever offered on an ultra rare and high end vintage graded card" and "Although extremely rare, for comparison this grade has sold on ebay in the $680+ range, check out this auction from archived ebay vintagecardprices.com data."

If you're going to quote VCP data, shouldn't you be fair and also quote the last recorded sale...which happens to be when this seller bought the same card on eBay for only $490.86???

Wow...just wow. The grader just had a bad day no doubt. Or maybe x amount of dollars to get the grade, or it was resubed so many times they finally said "uncle." Raw is looking better all the time.

PSA = Please submit again.
Keep submitting until you get the grade you want.

Can't remember the auction but there's a 55 Clemente with phenomenal centering on eBay a PSA 7 the back looks as bad as this back. How can they discount a back that bad. I know I look at the back of my stuff I'm sure others do to!

Just checked that Clemente it's a 7.5 the seller wants 4,500 cause of he dead centered front to bad the backs just about a miscut. I've been looking for a centered Clemente forever but no way I take a reverse like that!

PSA grader's are like "Pavlov's dog."

Pavlov was a scientist who in one experiment decided to decide why it was that dogs salivated prior to eating. Today "the term has come to mean someone who responds predictably on instinct or through a conditioned response, INFLUENCE, rather than someone who has a reasoned, thinking or competent response to their profession." Draw your own conclusions.

I've called out the very same seller for the very same reason, cutting off the VCP history chart AND selling the card he just bought days before. His response? He couldn't fit it on the screen and he ignored my quick turnaround query.

There are four douchebags in this example:
1. The seller
2. The grader
3. The potential buyer
4. The CU message board for allowing this to tarnish PSA's image.

Actually, #4 is one of my heroes today for leaving the thread up for everyone to pile on.

Here's the best one from over there:

"The placement of the card in the slab makes the centering look worse than it really is."

Damage control? Have some more Kool-Aid boys.

I saw that one to. I am not sure what that's suppose to mean?!?!?! Is there enough room in a PSA holder to place it better?? There's another one where a poster wonder's if the OC was left off by mistake. I admit I wondered that one myself.

If they used a black gasket and not a plastic flange the centering would be more obvious.
