Professional "slab" grading is for preservation and resale, that's about it. Grading runs $6 to $12 per card, so take that into consideration. On the modern stuff (80's and newer), I might grade limited edition, low population cards and maybe autographed cards. Possibly rookie cards of potential HOF'ers.|
Pick out your best condition cards that fit the above categories and send 10 or 20 in and see how you do. Word of warning: you may be disappointed the the graders aren't as fond of your cards as you are. That's part of the learning process.
