Had I known that Fox News also ran the story, I would not have written my intial post criticizing the quality of the article.

We're cool in my book.

Actually the Fox News article told it from a slightly different angle. They said the police were warning Tigers fans.

BTW, I saw this article on-line the other day. Why would the Detroit Police Department warn visitors not to come to their city because it's too dangerous?

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/10/06/e...e-for-visitors/

Gee, Detroit sounds like a place I don't think I want to visit.

It was a bit of hyperbole by the police because there is talk about wage cuts for the force to help with a balanced budget. Not saying Detroit does not have plenty of issues, but this one is trumped up a bit for personal agendas. The Burbs are fantastic however.

Ann Arbor was great for the time and purpose I was there. Hated the winters, but for a college town a few decades ago, it was something special.

Ypsilanti, not so much. Detroit, I hardly ever visited.

Ann Arbor is a great college town. Arrived there for grad school in mid-90's - haven't left the area. Nice place to work, live, raise a family.

Ooooooh! That line sure is moving heavily in one direction. According to the quote above, you better hurry. According to D!CKHEAD-DAVE, just disregard how his last advice turned out for you and your kid's college fund.

Latest line:
Alabama Crimson Tide -9 at LSU Tigers
Nov. 3 Saturday 8:00 pm EDT.

I'm sure glad I don't gamble and lose money to a system skewed toward benefitting the book makers. I'd rather spend it on cards I like.

Ann Arbor is one of the nicest small big town areas in the entire U.S. Ypsi-still, not so much.

Ann Arbor is a neat town. I lived outside Detroit for a couple of years, Waterford and Holly. Was really nice except for the winters, I never shoveled and plowed so much snow in my life.I traveled into and around Detroit many times and never had any trouble, and yes many times at night.

Conversely, I've traveled into and around Chicago many times and the result not nearly so good. Same for Kansas City.

Line at -7.5 right before game time. Some have it at -7. Glad I got in at -10.
