Rob,

Same here on 62's. Not a whole lot out there other than sellers wanting stupid money for them. And I'm not close to finishing.

I'm having fun with odd-ball stuff these days.

Rob,

A great set rakes time man but once it's done the satisfaction is great and then you find yourself fighting the upgrade bug! That's what I've been fighting on my 56 set. Lately I've just been hitting small shows and looking for hidden gems.

Same here man, this board is getting a little out of whack lately. Every set build hits a snag once in awhile when that happens to me I shift my focus maybe work on those football sets some. Less football out there but it's generally more affordable

Hey Rob,

Patience is key as it will save you lots of money. One of the reason I collect a wide variety of sets is for when you get down low in a set you have something else to focus on while you wait for cards you need to pop. I currently have 6 sets that need less than 6 cards (a few I have been waiting over two years for the cards to pop)so I know the waiting game very well, a few of those cards I need are available on ebay but im not going to pay 2-5X what I will if I just wait.

I would say go into your 81 football but always have some money held back so when a 58 you need comes up you are ready to pounce. Also putting money towards a submission is another good thing to do if graded versions on cards you need are not coming up.

Scott, Daryl and Jim thanks for all your guidance and feedback. I was on my iphone and wasn't able to thank you guys the right way. Your right as I do need to practice patience. Gotta remember that this is not a race for finish but an enjoyment till the end.

Im having alot of fun picking up football cards and cards I remember as a kid. The 58 set is still a goal that I will finish but won't let it be my ......how do ya say.....my master. I will complete it when i can and grade out when i can.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and look forward to some good posts and seeing some cards this weekend.

As for set building? They are never completed. Ive completed my seventies and eighties Football sets multiple times over the years only to still find myself with a "wantlist"

No sooner than I complete a wantlist, I just seem to turn around and go through the sets again and make another wantlist. It never ends. I will say that it is getting harder and harder to find upgrades at this point.
