Do you think grading services could offer a "premium" service whereby ever top grader in the co. would certify a card's grade, etc. and the label would be "gold certified" or whatever?

I mean, let's say you purchased a PSA 9 '55 Clemente RC for example wouldn't you like to know that the card had been evaluated by more than one set of eyes? And if you were the owner of such a card wouldn't you drop and extra grand or so to remove any or more doubts that its exceptional quality is definately not due to alteration, etc?

I guess the TPGs are wary that such a service would water down their regular service but I think they could make some dough on high-end cards.

Are you suggesting for a grading co. to charge $1000 to see if the card had been altered?

Doesn't SGC already charge more for cards worth over a certain amount?

I'm pretty sure the companies have levels for there graders. An entry level grader isnt going to be looking at to many high dollar cards. He's gonna get the common stuff, the cards that are worth about as much as the grading fee even in a 10 or pristine holder. Once he's been around awhile he probably gets the higher valued stuff to look at.
