Anyone grab anything last night in the Sterling Sports Auction?
I think this is the most I won at one time:
1909-1911 T206 Howell, Portrait Piedmont Cigarettes SGC 45 1910 E91C George McBride American Caramel SGC 50 1943 World Series Game 2 Ticket Stub PSA Authentic 1954 Topps #201 Al Kaline SGC 30 *Rookie* 1959 Topps #202 Roger Maris PSA 3 1959 Topps #478 Bob "Roberto" Clemente BVG 5 1967 Topps #498 Larry Dierker SGC 92 1978 Topps #703 Jack Morris Rookie SGC 96 MINT 1989 Bowman #266 John Smoltz Rookie SGC 98 GEM MINT
If the back is clean, do you think this Clemente might be a bump candidate? Maybe an SGC 70?

Good time to pick up a Morris rookie, seeing how hes a favorite to get in the hall soon plus its a tough year to. Late seventies cards are tough in 9 an 10.

Thanks guys! Yea I passed up on an SGC 96 Morris a few times, but wanted to make sure I grabbed it now before a possible HOF entry. Time to sell my SGC 92 Morris RC!

That's a great Clemente '59, could bump depends on how much wear on those corners hard to tell from scan

I find that its kinda hard to get a bump in a Beckett slab. I would defintely submit it raw. From the looks of it , it has the making of an 80, with 3 sharp corners and good cebtering. The surface will be the deciding factor IMO.

I'd bet on a .5 bump. Looks like some touch on the corners to me. Completly agree on submitting it raw... Better get the jack hammer out!

Based on just the obverse, I'd say that's an easy 70. Me, I'd even grade it a 6/80 if the back was clean.
