especially on Berra's cheek...not that noticeable at all in person.

Thanks, the Reese might be the roughest of the bunch but still no creases or anything like that. And, most importantly, the price was right!!

A mid grade set for that year always looks better than alot Of early topps stuff cause those cards just look great period! No creases good centering and you got a presentable set.

Yep, I LOVE the set!! A friend of mine is 20 years my senior. He's building it because it is the year he was born. Like someone said earlier, it is Americana. When I think of vintage baseball cards, I think of 53 Topps. There are a few cards here or there in the set I might upgrade but, overall, I am pretty happy.

Here's a few graded ones...does anyone think the Mantle is a crossover candidate? It doesn't have any creases. Too much corner wear for regrade? Thoughts?? If nothing else, it is a very solid and presentable 4.

The white specks on Mantle's hat/face and Slaughter's eye are dust..

I'd keep that mantle as is that's a great looking 4. Most be corner wear. I have a 5 that's not any better than that IMO although I can't see the corners up close. Overall appearance is just as good is what I'm getting at I guess. Nice stuff man!

All i can say is im in awe of those cards! Very very nice cards although i do think they would present better against the black SGC holder.
