I would like to know if SGC would take unopened rack packs. I would like to send unopened rack packs and have SGC open and grade the cards inside. Also can they be labeled on the flip as having come directly fron the rack pack?

To me that would be taking a real big gamble. Many a time I've seen a vintage pack get opened only to be wayyyyyy off center or dinged up or whatever. Send in a modern pack and you could end up with a pack full of junk getting graded.

Yes, big gamble of getting a bunch of 7's slabbed. Not sure what type of pack you are talking about. Also, you miss out on opening yourself. For me, that is the thrill - opening products and self submitting.
The only benefit I can think of is if this type of sub was labeled "uncirculated" or something like that and collectors actually paid a premium for this as a guarantee the cards when straight from packs to slabs i.e. not altered or circulated in any way. I could see it catching on. I thought a read somewhere that SCD either did this or was going to do this with Fritsch. SCD didn't last long and Fritsch likes his his prices, so it didn't last. Maybe with the PSA controversy, this is something that may have found its time.

The unopened rack packs would come from 1979 Topps and also cello packs from 1978 and 1975. I firmly believe this would take off and would very much satisfy mystique and questioning concerning fixed or doctored cards that have been professionally graded. But, this would have to be noted on the flip. Uncirculated would be OK, but it would be neat if "rack pack" "wax pack" or "cello" could be incorporated with the word uncirculated. Otherwise the grading would not be altered. I truly believe we should head in this direction with grading if SGC woulod take the lead. I believe this would have a positive effect on the hobby as a whole and would give SGC the edge.

I would bet money they would do it. Worst case, you may have a pay a fee for the custom note i.e. Uncirculated - Wax Pack.

I don't think it's a BAD idea just think it's risky as far as grading stuff you may not want graded if you seen it first.

While I think its a cool idea, I dont think the top three tpg would touch something like this. Way too much risk and no reward.
I have busted some packs here and there and all I can say its a losing mans lotto, the odds of getting heavy OC or damaged corners FAR outweights the chance of getting any 10's imo.
