I need a 52 Mantle for my set,or at least i think i do.Ive passed on Mantles before because i want to make sure i get a legitimate one.Id like some insight on this Mantle,this is the grade im leaning to item #160937573813.Tks.

I wouldn't buy that card in person at the PSA booth at the National with your money or mine, regardless who the seller was. Run, like your bank account depended on it.

I could have bought a 6 1 time for 14 grand but the card was frosted on the outer edge about 2/3 away around so that scared me.Im down to 11 cards but its looking like i will always lack 1.

I don't have one, doubt that I ever will have one. Way out of my league, at my age. So I just have to be happy with my 57 and going forward from there. Don't see much reason to go beyond 65. So, I'll keep what I have between 57 and 65 and be happy with it all.
Jim I held one once. Gosh it was a beauty. Some guys would trade their entire collection for one but for some reason i couldn't part with my 58 set just for that one card, even though it is considered quite possibly the most coveted card in the hobby. Other than the Wagner i guess.

Rob,
I'm the same way, I could sell all I had and get a decent 52, I wouldnt enjoy it nowhere near the way I enjoy what I have now though! I've thought about it before though lol!

i stay away.. he is not selling anything else ....All i can say do your homework..Track down PSA and check the id # on it maybe. I usually dont buy from people below 100, and well a 0 is a sign to pass it by.

I think the card is real, but is the scan stolen? Who has he done business with before, hobby-related or not?
Ask for some references, then check them out. Be up front with him and tell him it's the low feedback that has you wary. Ask him to meet in person. For 5-figures on a card like this, if you are truly interested, isn't it worth a plane trip?
Personally, I'd stay away. This is not a Wagner or Plank. Another Mantle in this grade will pop up any day now.
