From the back view it appears to have a bit of border wear along the top right side.
They may have also docked it for the green and yellow color "bleed" on his shoulder area.

don't know about the debris in the scan. Very likely could be some kind of surface issue that can not be detected through the slab.

Regardless of the grade, I wouldn't kick that card out of my collection. very nice Eye appeal.

I cracked this out and submitted it raw back to SGC. The grade this time?

1 1959 Topps 387 DON DRYSDALE 0 - T8

I'm absolutely disgusted right now!

Other poppage on the same submission -
2 1959 Topps 505 TONY KUBEK 88 - was a Becket 8 raw card review
3 1966 Topps 50 MICKEY MANTLE 80 - was a PSA 6.5 crackout \:\(
4 1971 Topps 14 DAVE CONCEPCION ROOKIE 84 -was a BVG 7.5 crackout \:\(
5 1972 Topps 595 NOLAN RYAN 84 - was a BVG 7.5 crackout \:\(
6 1973 Topps 615 MIKE SCHMIDT ROOKIE High# 88
7 1955 Topps 50 JACKIE ROBINSON 0 - G - a PSA 5 that I tried to cross \:\(
8 1956 Topps 30 JACKIE ROBINSON 0 - G - another PSA 5 that I tried to cross \:\(
9 1955 Topps 198 YOGI BERRA High# 70 - a PSA 5 that did cross

I had another submission ready to go for the Goudey/Play Ball Special. Considering the TriStar show is in town this weekend, I now have other plans for that submission.

Sorry to hear the results! Maybe a re-sub?

In this hobby you win some and lose some. In the end I think it is a wash...

Hang in there, Dave!

Trimming along the left border. I emailed Earl to see if he could have the graders take a look at it again if it hasn't shipped.

That sub was rough. Drysdale card looked awesome what is T8? I tried to cross a few Staubachs awhile back 3 cossed 2 did not and none graded higher. I think vintage BVG cards are usually over graded, I won't buy any of those slabs anymore.

I would call them and talk to a grader asap about the card.

The only bright spot was the '73 Schmidt. I bought it raw at a show for $30-$35. I purchased it as if it were trimmed because it measured short. Other than that, it was gorgeous! When I got it home I louped it over and over looking at all 4 borders. The cut pattern looked factory, so I thought it might just be cut short from the factory and took a chance on sending it in. That one worked out well. I'm happy with the 8, but I thought if it did grade numerically, it might get a 9. Here is a raw scan before it was sent in.
