Let's just say you hit the jackpot big time and had 1M to spend on cards, would you:

1) Buy a couple super high grade rookie(s)
2) Go with quantity and say collect a bunch of vintage sets in nice shape
3) Other

I.e. If you had 1M to improve your collection which route would you go? Plz don't tell me you would buy silver, gold, etc. I'm interested in your card pursuits

Me? I might just retire and try to start a card business and use the $ to invest in inventory, not to mention owning the best '57 set available $\:\)$

Pat I would upgrade my 58 Topps set and try to get a nice Card #1 of Ted Williams. My card is an SGC 40 and is a low end 40. Ive gotta upgrade that card as it makes me sigh every time i look at it.

No probably not Pat. Im thinking just upgrade the lower end I have. I have several SGC 60's that are quite O/C and they just don't jive with the 88's I have. If I could round out the set and upgrade the Stars it would be great.

I also would like to upgrade the Yellow Varations if possible. I have a few decent but the rest are what i could afford which wasn't much at the time.

So let's say you would buy a really nice NM '58 graded set for 10K or whatever, what would you do with the other $990,000?

Here is a few biggest upsets Ive gotta fix in my set (over time of course)

Mantle

My favorite Mantle just happens to be in this set and its quite O/C......would love a nice centered one someday

Yellow Letter Aaron
Yeah its miscut bad......I do love this card but in the end Ive gotta get one a little nicer looking...LOL

Another example of the tougher Yellow Varations that i really need a better copy of..

I guess my first upgrade though would be Card #1 Ted Williams in at least a nice SGC 70 or better.

Well I would love to give back to others as they have gave to me and helped me along the way. If I had that amount of money I would love to do such things as buy Cammb a Solid 52 Topps Mantle, get Scott a nice 68 Topps 3d Clemente or one of the cards off his list, get Jim the highest graded 62 Perry I could find, pull one card for BBO in the 59 set that I could upgrade, help you Pat complete a set of your choice or find that dream card you always thought was outta reach, get David the nicest 54 Topps Aaron I could find, help Boyd complete his 58 set,get John the nicest Staubach rookie out there! And many more guys on this board whom I respect and enjoy collecting with. Daryl for instance........a fellow Marine.....hell I would love to get him any card he may want. It would also be nice to get plane tickets so we could all meet up at the Nationals have a cold beer and enjoy cards!

Guess that would be something i could do with 999K or more easily.

Biggest thing I would like to do is help others

So basically you would end up upgrading your '58 set and I bet with that kinda $ you would be tempted to buy GEM MINT samples of '58 cards (if those even exist)

So many things we could do with that money to help each other. I would have to hide it from my wife of course who would first off have me pay bills off.......LOL

Yeah one SGC 98 would be awsome. Ive seen one on ebay a Joe Nuxhall that is around 4K. But even with that kind of money....you could buy alot of nice 58's for 4K. I would also help Dan complete his set....he hasn't sold it and im giving him as many doubles as I have......I know he wants to get back into it by early next year.
