I found this site and love the message board, however, I only have ONE graded card in my entire collection (T-205 Eddie Cicotte)
I have a nice collection of T-205, T-206 & T-201, and other pre War cards, but none are graded, but I LOVE talking cards.
Do I have to have graded cards to be in the "in" crowd on this board?

Not at all!! There are some people on this board that prefer raw cards. I collect both raw and graded. No matter what kind of cards you collect, you are definitely in the right place. Welcome!

Not at all K Nole, bottom line is we all have a love of cards, graded or not (my collection is mainly graded but matters not to me how others collect). You have come to the right place for sure, welcome aboard.
Great Sets to collect, post some pics when you can, always love to see others collection regardless of condition )

Nice card SMTJoy....
Wish i had cards like those..but the kids probably will not know who Nap is/was....and maybe Matthewson too....they probably only know Cobb and Ruth.
I keep my Mantles...and the kids better know who he was, or there be some serious talking and no more cutting off barbie doll heads & melting them in the microwave.

Great!!!
I would LOVE to have more graded cards but the wife is already ticked with how much I spend.
Seeing those SMT's cards, makes me horribly jealous.
Those 2 guys are both in my top 5 of T-Cards I want. This list is based on having a realistic chance of getting. Knowing Ruth, Cobb & Wagner are not a possibilty ever.

Thanks KRG, stick with your mantles, you are building an awesome collection!
Great list you have there K-Nole, some of my favorite players too. Some awesome cards to shoot for. One thing to consider is keep building your collection and maybe trade for the biggie you want down the road so you dont have to fork over the big bucks/upset the wife. Thats how I got my first Ruth card, it was a trade )

Sorry, but it actually makes me feel better that someone else's wife monitors card spending, too!! Hang in there!! I keep hoping my wife will get the fever. From time to time, she shows a little interest.

Oh, and as to your original question about needing to have graded cards, I have way more raw cards than graded. Like many of the vets here have told me, collect the way that makes you happy. There is no wrong way.

Just thought I would pop in and say hi and let the original poster know that these message boards have all different types of collectors, graded and raw. I have a ton of raw cards but most of my nice ones (read:valuable) are in SGC holders. Happy collecting!!!
