Any active posters collecting 1941Play Balls? I have been working on a psa graded set, but considering the inconsistency in the grades, I am thinking about switching to sgc.

SGC followers are certainly strongest in the pre-war realm. At the end of the day, you have to do what you like best and judge based on what is most important to you i.e. customer service, grading costs, holder looks, grading consistency etc. Maybe give SGC a shot for a little while and make your own decision with no biased input.

I love the 1941 Playball set and hope to own some down the road, love the Dimaggio! I also think they will look awesome in SGC and you will be a lot happier with the grading and such. Years ago my collection was 100% PSA and switching to SGC was one of the best decisions I have made in the hobby.

I do agree send in a small sub and judge from that or call in and talk to CS you will be amazed.

The 41PB Joe D is a sweet card, I purchased one last year in a grade 5.

I agree the SGC holder presents well with the 41PB's. Hell, every vintage card in a SGC holder presents well!

Welcome, '41 PB is a great choice! I plan on working on that set someday if I can ever stop buying 50s Topps. Like some of the others here, PSA was all I knew when it came to TPGs for a long time. Now, thanks to consistency, customer service, look of the holder, etc I will never send another card in to any TPGer except SGC.

One of my all time favorite sets- I've had a few sets: raw, mid grade, and high grade. Sold them all but have about 60% of the set in uncut panels and strips

It's a great set to collect and there isn't a card that is impossible to find. Best of luck!
