I don't think there's anything wrong with asking them if they're willing to accept what you're willing to spend. They'll either say no, give you a counter offer or they'll accept it.
It's a hell of a card! I wouldn't think twice about asking.

There's no pricing data for an SGC 84 (7), but two other PSA 7s sold in 2012 for $122.50 and $121.38. You'd think the SGC counterpart would be somewhere in that ballpark.
I'd be willing to even go up to $150-$160, but can't see paying $270. I'll shoot him an email and see what he says.

My experiences with Tim have shown that he doesn't budge much. If he made a mistake in price, he will definitely correct it otherwise that will be prettty much the price.

I have found that when he has cards that are absolutely dead centers (like the Banks) then the price tends to go up. He had a 55 Mays a while back that I was drooling over. Made several attempts (lower cash offer, trade offer, trade and cash offer) to no avail.....sigh

I emailed them and Tim's response was "Thanks for the email. This is just a nice Banks and we feel it's under valued in this condition."
It's their card and I respect their decision and appreciate their fast response to my question, but I just can't pay 2X VCP for a fairly common card. If it were a rare T card that or something different, I could understand. However, for that price I could buy 2 PSA 7 Banks cards (and still have a bit left over), send them into SGC for cross over and keep the best one.
Oh well, it didn't hurt to ask.

Worth a shot.
I will say this that is the kind of card that does well on BIN's on ebay, I am amazed how many of my cards do sell and many above VCP. Cant blame a seller for trying to get as much as they can for a card.
I would just wait for the next nice one to come up for auction, to common of a card to not wait for a better deal. Let someone else pay the premium.

Sweet Banks but that is a dp and not worth x2 VCP. Joes usually does not negotiate much more than 10% off from list price from my experience
