Trade pickup. If not for the scuffed "t" in the autograph box, this might be anywhere from a 60 to 80.

I've got the magazine and I'm leaving them intact.

Sweet 52 Mantle!

I would leave it intact but if you are working a master set of either player you will need to cut. Looks sweet.

It is my goal to complete a set that grades out better than Gem Mint. The 1983 Fleer set is my choice. Why waste money on such a paltry set, you ask? For one, I simply like the set. Second, my son was born in 1983. Third, I just happened to have a case of vending boxes. I got a lot of early help from Joe Pankiewicz, who I owe a huge debt of gratitude. Thanks, Joe! Later, I began sending in subs of 50 which I prescreened myself, with a stipulation of SGC 98 minimum grade. The two 100's shown here came back in my most recent sub, in which 32 of 50 cards made the grade. I was pretty happy with that ratio. I am up to 70% completion, with a whopping 55 SGC 100s included. It's getting tougher as I have been through my case of vending. I'll probably make one more pass to see if I've missed any, then I'll start looking for individuals.

Best of luck on your quest!

How do you know or did you meet Joe Pankiewicz?

Awesome quest there, I like it. Good luck and look forward to seeing more of your cards. I have good memories of that set too!

We all collect for our own reason and while it might not add up financially at the end of the day to some if you plan to keep and pass them down the only thing that really matters is you and your sons enjoyment of them!

Kudos!
