Are you going to sell it?

Probably so, but how soon depends on when I get it back. If it comes in before Saturday, I will take it to the TriShow show this weekend and have Beckett look at it on site just for another opinion. Again, I am happy with the 8 considering what I paid, but feel it could have graded higher.

As far as the Drysdale goes, I probably should listened to Brick's advice. He's a wise old man

I would say the centering tilt on the 73T Schmidt keeps it out of a 9 holder...

You're probably right. 8.5 maybe? The tilt is very slight, but it is there.

To me card looks perfect. If your looking for any imperfection, I can point out the mark in the right border and on rear photo, right hand side what appears to be a nick about an inch from top.

Well, Earl emailed me back but it was too late. The package had already been shipped. He did speak to the grader and told me to send it back in, they'll take another look at it.

I guess I'll go ahead and send in my Goudey/Play Ball submission and include it in there. We'll see what happens.

When I got it home I louped it over and over looking at all 4 borders. The cut pattern looked factory, so I thought it might just be cut short from the factory and took a chance on sending it in. That one worked out well. I'm happy with the 8, but I thought if it did grade numerically, it might get a 9. Here is a raw scan before it was sent in.

Dave

Tough break on the Drysdale.

In regards to the 73 Schimdt Rookie.

I don't think that slight uneveness along the top constitutes a "tilt" The other three borders don't suggest it. Which brings me to your first thought that the card might be trimmed.

Maybe its my eyes or maybe the scan, but both the side borders look a little "wavey" to me.

The upper left side border starting right by the black border on Ron Cey looks to have a "dip" or "concaved" spot leading up to the corner.

The upper right side border also seems to be a little wavey in the same spot right off the black border on Schimdt.

Is it possible that this is why the "tilt" does not show around the whole card?

Just my observation.

John
