Good stuff John, or excuse me Moses.

I have found the Beckett holders are easily the most difficult until one gets the hang of it. Unless you're wanting to save the holders for some reason, the method that has worked best for me is to clip the upper right hand corner of the holder, then proceed just as though it were a PSA or SGC. I just happened to have a cable cutter that I've found works extremely well, but I imagine a good set of wire cutters would work equally well. Once you get into that corner, they come apart pretty easily. Once you get the card out, you've probably already noticed Beckett puts the card in sealed penny sleeve. Be careful when you go to cut it out it will be in there pretty snug. At least every Beckett I've cracked has been that way.

Nice cards!

Hey BB0- do you see anything that takes away the chance of a 7 on the Richardson?

Lower right corner is mauled. Print/roller mark down left side. Some surface scuffing(?) above his left shoulder. The combination of all those make it an 80-82 IMO. I'd sub it hoping for better, but if you expect 80, you could be jazzed if it's better.

Thanks for your honest assessment BBO, think you are likely right but "mauled" for BR might be an overstatement...Roller mark dead on. Still looking at this card is prally consistent of my many psa 7s due to the centering that could compensate for the defects that you see and land it in the 7 category, could argue this card is better than most 6s or 6.5s

I usually don't pick up cards with surface scuffing, but this one is well centered, and the scuffing is just above the shoulder area and not on his face. Sort of adds to the "halo effect." There is a tiny, less than half-inch surface wrinkle on the right border, extending in toward his chin. Back is clean with no creases or staining.

Guess the grade, if you want. Sorry about the crummy scan, but I just got a new scanner and took the 200 dpi default. Suggestions welcome on improving scan quality.

In my experience, SGC seems to be more lenient when it comes to 52 high numbers. I will say its a 45 or 50.

Me thinks a TPG'er was very generous with this card, for some reason.

Picked this up last week. I dunno maybe a "weak" 84 at best?

Here's a few raw pick-ups made over the last month to upgrade the '62 set. Pretty decent, if there is such an animal for the '62's.

Here's a test. Two of these cards were cracked out of PSA holders. One was a PSA 7 and one was a PSA 8. Anyone want to venture a guess which was which. Don't hold me to this but the winner might get the card those two replaced. But you have to get both to be the winner, and you have to correctly guess the accurate grade on both. I might even throw in few extra's for those interested.

Being there '62's, doubt I'll have any takers. But who knows. I know, too many rules, but let's have some fun.
