Nice Looking pick up's Rob

Curious if you got a decent price on the Probenstein Auctions? or did you have to outbid others and give the Probenstein premiumn?

I don't bid with the big consigners to often just for that reason, but I was quite surprised that I walked away with 78 slabbed cards for the 1976-77 Topps Basketball I started. All from Probenstein Auctions and most for the Minimum bid I placed.

More on that set later.

Congratulations on the nice additions to your 58 set!

John

Got about 10-12 raw that all seem NM/NMMT plus and I examined these a bit more carefully. I hoping for 84's or higher on all except the JW Porter which will be close. Don't know when I will get another sub off. May wait a bit to send off a larger sub again. For those of you guys whom told me it gets tough past 70%........your absolutely right! Trying to find those last couple of cards in decent enough condtion to sub is a task thats for sure. Will try to post my need list soon so if anybody spots a possible target aquisition they can let me know and I can call a fire mission on it.

I don't mean burst your bubble Rob, But it never ends. Ive been working on most all of my sets for over 30 years and still have wantlist for all of them! LOL Once completed I end up going back through them and making another upgrade list.

Its a vicious cycle that never ends for me. Ive made the 1978 Football set 6 times over now and still have a wantlist for it. How can that be?
Its a crazy, crazy card world!

Good Luck!
John

I believe ya John. Sometimes I think I should only just work on this one set since I love it so much. I vary off an on but am only really truly happy with these 58's. When I can upgrade Im full of joy, when I add another card I do "cheetah flips" its just alot of joy to do this set. The varations are something that in time I want to upgrade for sure. Most of the Yellow Varations and numerical team cards I have are on the lower end of the spectrum but I set out to build the master set.

I have a 54 set started and i love what I have thus far but I gotta get my 58 set where I want it before I can add anything to it.

By the way I haven't forgotten to look through those 81's for ya. Im hoping I have a few that will fit the bill for ya but I know your cards are the best of the best so im going to look hard and get ya the best I got.
