Thanks much for all the welcomes and good words about my site

BTW I am not a current card collector but as I explain on my card site they are all from my early teen years but I enjoy the card forums and reading what current collectors are about

Wish I had waited one more year before giving up collecting so that I would have had a 52 Toops collection
Funny thing once I stopped I completely lost touch with the hobby and never even knew that Topps existed until the late 80s
I was amazed how it was the Holy Grail of the post war cards and never even noticed when they came out

i sent my 3 cards in, but no specials. Should arrive at SGC on the 15th.
They are on a 20 day turnaround.

Got a submission status report email today!!!
#1. The 1960 Post Cereal Mickey Mantle
Expected just to receive a 'A' for authentic since it is a hand-cut card.
But to be amazed it got a SGC 10... 1 of 2 highest graded Whooooooo!

#2. The 1929 Shoew Japanese Babe Ruth Postcard
It is coming back labeled as a 1928 Shonen Kulubu
instead and graded a SGC 40

#3. The Joe Namath RC tallboy
Fell way below expectations, further than most here predicted. maybe it was that pen mark.
It is coming back as a SGC 30. Thought for sure a 4 or 5. \:\(

THANKS SGC, for such a QUICK UPDATE, was not epecting it so fast.!!

Estimated delivery :
Tues 4/23/2013 Now thats is QUICK!!!!!

THE SUBS MADE IT HERE TODAY!!!!!
The FexEd service...was horrible..The condition of the package was all torn up.
Almost where the popcorn would come out, and on 2 corners. What the heck do these carriers do???? I expect better service.
Thankful SGC securely bubblewrap their holders, but did notice a minor crack towards the upper mid side(backside) and the bottom, where heated or whatever together, looked kind of crappy to me...needless to say it looks good.

And the other 2 cards i sent it.
Keeping in mind, they changed the description on the Babe Ruth.
and got a lower than expected grade on the Namath RC

KRB

I hate the Fedex Service and will never use them.

I don't understand?
"looked kind of crappy to me...needless to say it looks good.

Its crappy and good?

Is the slab cracked on the surface? Or is the seal between the two pieces coming apart?

Please post scan of damage.

I believe if you contact SGC they will replace the damaged slab at no cost.

BTW Nice Namath

John

You have me worried as SGC stated that because of the high volume ( 296 cards) of this weeks submission they will use Fedex
I only live 80 miles away
I think I will call and say I will pick up at their site

Not really that interested in today's game as the salaries and long term guaranteed contracts have taken a lot of the fun out of watching (for me anyway )
I remember as a part time counter and order delivering boy at a local drug store during my HS years delivering ice cream and soda to Joe Coleman of the A's ( he had just pitched a 3 hit shutout against the Yankees the week before)and his wife in an apartment
right around the corner from the store

BUT I have ordered reprint sets of Cracker Jack--Goudey--48 Bowman( first cards I collected but didn't keep ) and a book on the T206 cards featuring pics of all of them
I am debating about getting a reprint set of 41 Playball

I had the FB done several years ago
The 50 BB are at SGC now
You can see the 50 FB here
50 HOF Bowman FB http://bandb3536.com/hof50fb/hof50fb.htm

Nothing really great grading wise as they were well looked at as a teen

I couldn't agree more. That and about 10,000 other issues with today's pro sports. Sure not what it used to be. But then I could go on and on about this subject.
