Thanks Rob!!! I love seeing your pickups as well as everyone else's. it is always cool to see what you guys have been acquiring.

K-Nole: Yes, the Rizzo is part of an Exhbit set known as "salutation" exhibits. They were produced between 1939-1946. Some cards are tougher to find like the Rizzo, which puts them at a premium. Our resident Exhibit expert is Scott, hopefully he can chime in with more details.

Sweet Rizzo, that's one of the toughest cards in the set.

On the salutations they were are part of the full exhibit run which is from 1921-1966. The salutations were issued from 1939-1946 (although a few players like Ted Williams were produced well past 1950) and each card has a salutation/greeting on them. They were mainly purchased at amusements parks out of machines like these-

Here is a great website on exhibits by the real expert-

Great cards to collect if you like real pictures and larger cards, also they are very affordable for the most part-

Raw for now, but not for long. I think I've got a winner here. Only wrinkles are on Richie's skin when the photog said, "Smile." Card is clean front and back, crease free and corners are better than NM. Just not sure how much better on this oddball card.

What say ye, merry gentlemen?

Mint, most of the OPC Deckles have that indentation and scratch across the players forehead like your Clemente. I've got the whole set and it was very difficult finding cards that didn't have that. Some of mine are like yours. It's supposedly from the "grab and pull" rollers they used in Canada in the printing process. Some are on the front and some are on the back of the card(s). PSA cut me some slack years ago when I subbed the set, but I don't want to try it again. So I'm being real careful to find cards that don't have the scratch.
