Getting ready (finally) to submit personal collection cards to SGC. My question concerns modern cards like Finest/Select Certified Mirror Gold etc with the protective film. Is it better to remove that before subbing, or just leave it?

I asked this same question on another board, most everyone said remove film coating. A- the coating is for protecting card and it will be encased by plastic b- it looks better without the coating. C- the coating may have some scratching and may effect the grade. I did take off coating on a Moss finest rookie card and came back a 9. Good luck and I hope this helped

I feel it alters the card from its original issued state by removing it.
