Hey bbo and SMtJoy and thanks for your replies!

Honestly I really felt the same way in the beginning , the only thing that officially changed my mind was the guide on net54 about the chipping evident on the edges of untrimmed cards. If you zoom in on left side (or right) of the close up shot of the back, you can see what they're talking about on this card.

I found the link to that guide, it can be seen here:

http://net54baseball.com/forum/content/trimming.html

I also came to my conclusions that it was untrimmed after noticing the "rolled corner" described in that guys, in the upper left hand side of the front.

Trimmed or not I have to chime in and say it is a beauty none the less. Even having it holdered as "A" would in my opinion bring in a sufficient amount of money.

Just talked to SGC. They got the card. I can't wait to see what it comes back as.

So I got the card back. Real zinger, this one.
So I talked to SGC and they said rather than open it
and it be trimmed they would prefer to put it in an
"A" slap, or leave it as it was.

I still had the receipt from the card from when I bought it, however it was just a generic credit card receipt with no writing.

I figured it would be better rather than go back to the guy mad and upset, I'd handle it the smartest way possible.

I needed undeniable proof that they had implied the card was untrimmed when I bought it because I feel like the $2250 + Tax I paid for the card is worth more than the trouble of trying to sell it otherwise. I drafted up a fancy big lettered Bill of Sale, then went to where I bought the card last night. I pretended like nothing at all had happened, and started small talk about the Cobb I had bought from there. After he acknowledged he knew what I was talking about I quickly pulled out the Bill of Sale. I told him I ended up framing that card, and displaying it in my office, and that I needed him to sign this Bill of Sale so that I could write it off on my taxes. LOL. He kindly obliged. (phew)

So the owner of the establishment will be at the store tomorrow at 6 p.m. What do you think is the best way to confront the owner about returning my money. I really just want to do in a way that has the highest odds of returning my moneys.

I know local Media, and a few police. I also have a decent Lawyer.

After reading about PSA's trimming incident, I'm sure it's illegal to sell me this card after assuring me it's authentic and untrimmed.

Read the Bill of Sale, and tell me what you think I feel like I did a pretty damn good job here. I even dated it with the date on the CC slip.

Any suggestions?

I think I might just flatbed all 850k of my cards to SGC and outsource all of the selling business to a website or team of people to sell.. I need a vacation. I wonder if I could sell the ones graded in time enough to pay them to keep grading?

Remind me to never sell you anything. Oh, never mind. I would never sign anything with that much legalese in it. I hope you get your money back and put the fear of the court system into the owner of the shop.

Is the signature you obtained the responsible party in this transaction? Or is he an employee of the store without authority to make amends? Is the opinion of SGC more valid than the grading company that encapsulated the card? If the store has a thriving business and wants to avoid negative publicity. If they feel they can sell it again easily in that holder without taking a big hit they may not present a problem. If selling that card was a big score they may not be as easy to deal with.
