I been posting over at the Net54 postwar side.
For those wanting to know...i picked up some really nice pieces, that i been wanting for a while.

Latest addition, is something i always wanted being from Atlanta.
1954 Hank Aaron R/C

Next, is my ALL TIME must have, that i been patiently waiting for:

and well, this was in the same Auction with the above....i had already placed a bid, before knowing the actually origins. So this is being re-sold.

And this was from Henry Yee-- a nice 1915 BABE RC example

You just can't go wrong with a Hank Aaron rookie card. Very nice!! The Nolan Ryan is a clipping from a magazine is it not??

Yes, it is from The Sporting News..it says it on the label.
I currently have it on Ebay. The thing is PSA graded 5 examples..and it is a Registry need for the master list. I know the top 2 collectors already have them.
It is 1966, so makes it a rookie piece.
Comes from: The September 24, 1966 issue of the Sporting News

The issue is that PSA may be heading into grading these pieces of clippings...opening the market for a whirlwind of money for them to make.
This has been discussed in the Net54 forums.

Nice grab on the Aaron Rookie.

The Mantle photo is Very Sharp Looking!

All nice pick ups!

Better move that 66 Nolan Ryan cut out quick.

It appears the "whirlwind" won't be happening.

CU has already had a thread on this type of item. One of the CU Member Elites called PSA about subbing more of these hand cut items.
He was told that PSA will not grade them and that those few that got graded should not have been graded in the first place, that it was a mistake by someone working at PSA.

They also stated that the item will not be part of the Nolan Ryan Registry.

So other than a companion piece it pretty much worthless. Many might not be aware of it yet so you might get lucky yet. Who knows, with the few that got into psa slabs they might be more sought after by the crazies over there.

Good Luck. Please keep us updated.

Rob

Nice to see your making ground on the 65's!

Some HOFers to boot! Bobby Bell is one of my all-time favorite linebackers! What a great player he was, as was that whole linebacking corps the Chiefs had.

John

Alright, here are my recents. I am big into the 1919 Chicago Blacksox, so I HAD to get the Schalk and the Rixey. Currently looking for a Luque if anybody has one for reasonable price. As you can see, i am not a stickler on how high a card is graded, just as long as it is graded.
I finished TWO of my all time favorite players collections with these 2 cards of Bock and McCovey. I also got a 66 McCovey but it is RAW. I now, with these 2, have all the Brooksy except the 1967 which i probably will never be able to afford. I couldnt pass up the Maris for the price it had. And the Roberts was a HUGE get for the price. I am 2 away from having his entire set.
