1957 Whitey Ford: Bought it raw at a show last year for $70, would like to get EX+ grade due to nice centering. Will keep in PC.

1957 Richardson RC: From the tougher series, hard to find centered. Bought this from my LCS paid near book. Most excited what it could grade. Expecting ATLEAST a "7". Will keep in PC.

1957 Kaline: From same LCS buy, probably paid too much. Would be happy enough with a "6".

1971 Clemente: Don't remember where/when I got this. Just wanted it slabbed hope to get a 6.
Will probably keep in PC for a while unless I upgrade it.

1963 Topps Clemente: Nothing special here don't remember when I got it. Probably will upgrade at some point. Figured it was worth the $10 to get it graded. Would like a "5".

1959 Topps Clemente: Pretty sharp card but o/c. bought it at a time when centering didn't matter. Will probably upgrade. Hoping for a "6".

1958 Topps AS Mantle: Bought this raw on eBay for under $100 .pretty happy with it when I got it. Has a shot at a 7, probably will get lower. Will keep it in PC.

1963 Fleer Spahn, picked it up at flea market for pretty cheap, thought it was exceptionally sharp, tried to sell raw but no takers. Want atleast a 7.5 hoping for maybe even better. Don't see much if anything not mint about this card. Will resell.

1979 Topps Ozzie Smith: Bought a set from a local collector, thought this card was sharp, would like NM+ or better grade. Nice centering.

1982 Topps Traded Ripken: Bought this on eBay for who knows what, would like NM or better grade. Very sharp a little o/c.

Have you sent the submission in yet? The reason I asked is I would buy the Spahn raw from you if you still want to sell it. The Mantle is gorgeous, so are the 1957's.

Pat im really impressed most by the centering on the Ozzie rookie. Most copies I see are with poor centering resulting in those darn PSA OC or MC grades or lower end SGC grades for that year. But yours my friend looks nice. Mike may very well be right on........but im going to say SGC 86 on the Wizzard especially if the back is a clean and presentable as the front.

I tried to leave a little room for some "in yo face" joy, but I gotta say, I'm somewhere between prophet and professional on these, most of the time.

Should phrase as somewhere between professional and prophet. This assumes that prophet is actually a higher level than a professional. If not, then you were accurate.

I have been led to believe that TPG is a profession of a supernatural level. Is it just me, or does anyone else think that has been put upon us as such? I'm confident that I know where Big Red One comes down on this.

All knowing and all powerful bodies are certainly supernatural in my book.

Must admit that SGC by far has the best customer service out there. Sean and Earl are top notch! I was able to talk to them today and get several questions answered such as some other cards I want to submit that are various sizes requiring special inserts. Wish the PSA loyalists could see how much easier it is to contact SGC.

big thanks for all your help Sean if you reading this brother!

They are in penny sleeves so any thing that looks like a scratch is not on the card.
The Gretzky Team Canada is a very rare card to find. It took me 3 years to find one. Beckett's has it at $80 but if you find one the chances of anyone letting it go for under $300 is rare. I am really hoping for a 98 or at least a 96. Fingers crossed.

The Gretzky rookie reprint is a refractor. Very rare as well. I wish it was not off center but I couldn't pass up not buying it. Centered ones go for around $300.

Question: up until today cards submitted said "not graded", today a column with "Grade" but no grade listed does this mean I'll shortly see what grades popped and if so how soon? Not that I care lol

Hope you do well!!! The Richardson card is gorgeous, as is the Mantle! I'm a Yankee fan so I was happy to check out the Ford, Richardson and Mantle. I'm hoping you get a 7.5 on the Mantle. It is slightly off center top to bottom, but I don't think it's bad enough to really hurt you, but I'm not a professional grader either. Here's rooting you on for nice good grades. Thanks for sharing the scans.

Here they are:

Item # Year Publisher Set Card# Player Name Description Grade
1 1957 Topps 286 BOBBY RICHARDSON ROOKIE 82
2 1957 Topps 125 AL KALINE 80
3 1957 Topps 25 WHITEY FORD 70
4 1958 Topps 487 MICKEY MANTLE All-Star 60
5 1959 Topps 478 BOB CLEMENTE 80
6 1963 Fleer 45 WARREN SPAHN 88
7 1963 Topps 540 BOB CLEMENTE High# 70
8 1971 Topps 630 ROBERTO CLEMENTE 80
9 1979 Topps 116 OZZIE SMITH ROOKIE 86
10 1982 Topps Traded 98T CAL RIPKEN

Overall, love subbing card to SGC, great service and I respect their grading opinion.

Biggest disappoint: Grade EX on '58 Mantle AS. Not sure why but such is life when grading.

Small disappointment (sort of): Bobby Richardson. Really thought it was a 7+ but this gives me an excuse to keep it as if it would of it 8+ might have sold it and used the money for a lower grade one.

Pleased with an 8 on the Spahn, a card I bought at a flea market for only a few bucks, very hard to get an 8 on a 50 year old piece of vintage cardboard.

All the other cards were around what I expected and I was glad nothing came back altered or low grade so I'd have to give my overall satisfaction level at around a 7.
