I thought about bidding on the Luzinski but saw you bid so passed.
Also, I really don't want to start anything new with so many other
things I'm working on. No $$$.

same with the Garvey card. There's a SGC 92 out there for cheap, but the centering isn't great, about 70/30.

If anyone runs across 78 Topps All-Stars in SGC 92 or 96 or the following, send me a note:

Lyman Bostock
Dan Ford
Butch Wynegar
Twins Team & other Twins

no deal on the 60 dollar offer on the 7 78 sgc 96's on ebay. i figure thats about 8 bucks a card and pretty much the going price for common/semi star. the only card i might think about grabbing is the burroughs. he wants 12.00 each. his response was that he thinks sgc has a good value and if they don't sell he will put them back in his closet.
still have not gotten the cards from remo yet
sent in 7 psa 9's that i had. those are the only ones i have so i sent them in to try to cross? don baylor, randy jones, red sox, rangers, braves and blue jays. wish me luck

B> I'd want the cards too, but at least he is saying no for the right reason. You have to give the guy credit for putting a solid value on SGC cards, and sticking to it!

You offered about $8.50 a card; he is asking $12. I suggest going back at $10 a slab, saying any or all of the 7 at the price.

Vayank:
do honestly think there is value in 78 topps commons? i sure don't. i just think they look nice in sgc holders!i will try to pick and choose my poisen when at all possible but to put a 30 cent card in a 6.00 holder and pay 10.00 +shipping is probably not sound i love cards and the 3 or 4 sets that i collect are for sentimental reasons. i will make a fair offer and if they choose not to do it then oh well back to the closet> i would be willing to bet that i am the only person in this world that is collecting sgc 96 78 commons? psa 9's can be had for 6 to 8 bucks so 8.50 is a fair offer. you would have to go back a few years to find commons that are worth grading out and even those you better make sure they are low pops.i would say any pre 60 commons are worth grading.i don't know much about the 60's and maybe 70,71 and 72 but after that i would say it's a [!@#%^&^] shoot!

I agree with Bouffard...$10 is an unrealistic expectation for a mint '78 common. I think $8+ is more than generous. Oh well, back into the closet they go.

I would have to disagree here. I think if you could agree to a deal for $10, you should do it. I stress that would include shipping.

First, I do think the cards have value and I applaud the seller -- though he should negotiate a price.

Let's break down this potential deal:

You offer $8.50 x 7 = $60 (rounding up).
He offers or would accept $10 X 7 = $70.

The first $60 is not an issue. We've already crossed the river about "overpaying" to have a $.30 card with a $6 slab.

You have to throw an extra $10 on the table for get the cards. If you do and he accepts, you not only get 7 sharp cards. You support an obviously committed SGC dealer. You encourage him or her in a material way to sumbit more cards to SGC. You'll probably get first crack at future cards he wants to move or is having trouble moving.

In short you are suporting the SGC market. And for what, an extra $10 on the $60. Sounds like a bargain. Win/Win.

Just my $.02.
