Bouffard...true, it is your cards, your complaint and you can do so as you wish. If you have decided to "chalk it up" as a lesson learned and just do not want to buy GAI cards anymore, then I understand.

My only experience with GAI was at last year's Sportsfest in Chicago. You were able to watch GAI graders grade cards - they were not behind a curtain. During the time I watched the graders, most cards were graded by one grader in less than 30 seconds and without the use of a magnifier. From a collectors perspective, not exactly a confidence building performance by GAI.

I have yet to purchase any GAI graded cards. At the last Ft. Washington show I did notice at 9th Inning's table that one of his GAI graded card with a similar problem, the card had slipped a hair under the gasket.

I too watched the graders at GAI grading cards in the open. It really amazes me that they can grade a card so quickly and still pick out flaws in the card in that short period of time. It was nice being able to chat with them.

I still like what SGC does (And PSA), grading cards in a darkened area with proper light. I find that I am better able to view cards in a dark room with a nice lamp.

the slipping under the "gasket" is nothing new. they have had this problem since day 1. there is also way too much room for the card to move around and also damage the card.

picked up an El Tiante in sgc 96. was going to hit the rusty staub but the small scan and the centering kind of scared me away.

I saw the Staub and it was a good move to pass. Patience my good man
will get you the cards you want. Otherwise, you'll just replace it later.

I wish I'd listen to my own advice...
