Thanks Erik for the sentiments and thank you Jackstraw for posting the scan. Now, if only I could get my hands on some more just like this one....

Bobby,

A couple of things that I noticed from the enlarged scan. The borders don't appear to be a bright white nor does the holder seem to be scratch free. Perhaps these are scanner imperfections as opposed to what you have in your possession.

As you know by now, had I bought this it would be residing in a BVG holder -- as that is where my Topps Carew (Twins only) run resides. A BVG 9.5 has been offered on ebay and I forgot the price it received, but it was outside of my range -- likely in the $250 to $500 area. I would have paid a $100 if I know what you were getting. You gotta love ebay --- the world's greatest/largest flea market -- a place where things like this are still possible. Could you send me the link to the auction --- I'd like to see who the seller was and track his/her auctions.

Must be the scan because the card is rock-solid. The borders are perfect. I believe jackstraw answered your other question. Good luck!

The 1976 and 1977 are the best designed topps sets of the 70's imo. However, although not an attractive design, the 1973 topps set in SGC is something I've been considering for a while now. The action shots and photography from that set is the best imo (one of the reasons I am considering pursuing this set).
